A beginner’s workshop to provide hands-on training in basic recombinant protein
technology including molecular gene cloning, protein expression in bacteria, protein
purification, SDS gel characterization & Qubit fluorometer based protein quantification.

➢Scholars – JRF, SRF, and PhD, Participants
➢Faculties- from any Biological Sciences. Only
Hands-on experiment will be performed individually

Cloning Strategy - Selection of Vector, Host strains and Primer designing
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Restriction digestion of target and vector
Gel purification and Agarose Gel Electrophoresis analysis of Vector and
Insert fragment
Ligation, Transformation into competent cells and DNA Sequence Analysis

Small Scale and Large Scale Protein expression

Protein Purification by Nickel Affinity purification and dialysis

Protein characterisation by SDS PAGE and quantification by Qubit Method
