Q.6 A) Write a short tourist leaflet on any Hill stations in India. You may use following points:
a) How to go there? / Getting there? B) Where to stay? / Accommodation c) What to see? / Places
of tourist interest d) Anything special about the place? / Eating out, shopping etc. (Marks 4)

Ans: WELCOME TO KHANDALA

Khandala is one of the most famous Hill stations in Maharashtra. It is nestled in the forested
mountains at a height of 625 meters in the Western Ghats of Sahyadri in Maharashtra.

A) How to go there? / Getting there?:


1. From Mumbai or Pune: By train, by bus, by private vehicles.
2. Distance: About 70 to 80 Kms.
3. Journey Duration: 2 Hrs.

B) Where to stay there? / Accommodation:


Private bungalows, Also 3,4 and 5 star hotels for the rich tourists. There are good “A” grade hotels
for the higher middle class tourists. The middle class tourists can find Lodge’s of their choice. We can book
MTDC resorts too, in advance.
Rates: Depending on the class.

C) What to see there? / Places of tourist attraction:


The incredible natural vista attracts tourists from far flung areas to experience the magical charm of
the Mother Nature. The travelers, who are looking for a home away from home in the bosom of nature, must
visit Khandala to refresh their mind, body and soul. Major attractions in Khandala is a wonderful place for
adventure tourists. Even we can see the most popular sites like Khandala Lake, Bhushi Lake, Karla and the
Bhaja caves, Shiva temple, Tiger’s Leap, Sunrise and Sunset points, Amrutanjan point, Reversing station are
worth to see.
The Best time to visit: Khandala has a pleasing climate throughout the year. But between the months of
October and May is suits to all.

order homemade food too. The famous varieties of ‘chikki’, a sweet preparation made of jiggery, peanuts

Ans: WELCOME TO AGRA

Blessed with one of the Seven Wonders of the World The Taj Mahal, Agra is one of the most
prominent historical places of Utter Pradesh. It is situated on the banks of the river Yamuna.

A) How to go there? :
1. From Mumbai: We can go there By flight, by train, by bus, by private vehicles.
Distance: About 1200 Kms.
Journey Duration: Near about 21 Hrs.
2. From Delhi: By train, by bus, by private vehicles, even we can get there conducted tours.
Distance: About 210 Kms.
Journey Duration: 3 to 4 Hrs.

B) Where to stay there? / Accommodation:


There are 3, 4 and 5 star hotels for the rich tourists. There are good “A” grade hotels for the higher
middle class tourists. The middle class tourists can find Lodge’s of their choice. We can book Tourism
Departments of all states in India’s resorts too, in advance.

C) What to see there? / Places of tourist attraction:


Agra is known as the Land of Palaces, not just palaces it also has a lot of intricate and beautiful
architecture. It is a city with rich cultural, historical, architectural and religious attachments. It is a city which
is synonymous with the history of India. Here we can visit the most famous wonder of the world and the
symbol of eternal love of Shahajan and Mumtaj, The Taj Mahal. And many historical monuments like Agra
fort, Fatehpur sikri, sikandra fort, Bageshwarnath temple, Jodha bai ka Rauza, octagonal tower, Jahangir’s
palace, Mehtab bagh, Guru ka tall, Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb, Akbar’s tomb, Keetam Lake, Taj mahal garden
and many more. We can also visit Delhi to see, India Gate, Red fort, Qutubminar etc.

D) Anything Special about the place:

famous ‘Agre-ka-Petha’ from sweetmeat sellers.
