A Vintage Hufflepuff Scarf (1910s-20s)

By: Michelle Bondesen

Inspired by Newt Scamander’s Scarf from
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016)

Supplies:
● Gold/mustard yellow variegated/tweed
medium weight yarn (wool, acrylic, or a blend), I
used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Mustard
(170yd/156m)
● Charcoal/light grey variegated/tweed
medium weight yarn, I used Lion Brand Heartland
in Great Smoky Mountains (251yd/230m)
● US #9-10 needles (circular or dpns)

Instructions:
Cast on 46 stitches in charcoal
*Knit 14 rows in charcoal
Change to gold, Knit 9 rows in gold, change to charcoal*
Repeat *to* until you have 11
gold stripes and 12 charcoal
stripes total. For fringe: Wrap
around a cardboard with a
width of about 5-7 inches
about 8 times. Pull off the
loop, and using a crochet hook,
pull through both sides of the
flattened tube and loop
through. Pull tight on the loop
knot, and trim up the fringe
end. Starting with charcoal, alternate with gold tassels (Total: 5 charcoal
tassels, 4 gold tassels)
(I based this pattern on staring at official
photographs in the various movie books,
screenshots, and counting all the stitches
until I was fairly certain on the pattern. So
hopefully I got pretty close!)

This pattern is for personal use only. Because, do you

really want Warner Bros. to sue you? I know I don’t!
