How it Works
Step 3 Once you zero in on one supplier after verification, draft a bullet proof
contract that defines the contours of the deal. Take help from a lawyer for
Deal complex deals and always pay using safe payment instruments like LC.
1. Conduct extensive background checks of any manufacturer or supplier you meet online.
Employ Embassy resources and third party verification agencies such as D&B to carry out
detailed due diligence and credit checks even if it costs money.
2. Don’t fall for cheap prices. We often come across buyers who were conned by scam artists
who promised to deliver products at very cheap prices, that were unrealistic to begin with.
If someone quotes you prices that are so far removed from the market rates, you should
run from such sellers immediately.
3. Don’t pay advance and don’t pay using Western Union/Bank transfer to personal accounts.
Con-artists will often ask you to make advance payments towards registration with local
trade bodies etc. Don’t fall for such tricks. Always use safe payment instruments such as a
letter of credit (LC) from a well known bank to protect your interest.
4. Meet the seller face-to-face. This point cannot be stressed enough. Before sending any
money to an online seller for large deals, spend some money and meet the seller face-to-
face. No level of verification can beat a physical factory inspection.
