Educational Leadership

How will you effectively demonstrate your leadership role in this situation:

You told your teachers to rate themselves as to their contribution to the learner’s academic performance in the NAT.
How would you react if they rated themselves perfect score in all the criteria even though there was no improvement in
the outcome of the test?

Answer: As a leader I am going to explain to them the teacher’s appraisal by clearly defining roles, responsibilities and
procedures which includes multiple forms of measurement such as teacher’s portfolio, classroom observation and
survey/and/or administrator and peer assessment. I will assess their rate with them around based on the different forms
and measurement.

Strategies of educational leadership

1.Differentiate a manager from a leader.

Answer: The leaders have people follow them while managers have people who work for them.

“Leaders create a vision, manager create a goal”

“A manager is the member of an organization with the responsibility of carrying out the four important
functions of management: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.

Can someone be a good leader but not a good manager?

All managers are good leader, but all leader are not Good manager”

not all managers are leaders. Some managers have poor leadership qualities, and employees follow orders from their
managers because they are obligated to do so—not necessarily because they are influenced or inspired by the leader.

Which is better for the educational setting?

Leaders help organization and people to row, while a manager’s greatest accomplishment comes from making work
process more effectively. Both are important but leadership is ahead of management. A well –balance organization has
leadership at its base.

A successful business owner needs to be both a strong leader and manager to get their team on board to follow them
towards their vision of success.

2. Describe the knowledge, skills and attitudes of new millennium educational leaders, teachers and learners.
One must consider the effects of technology and automation in education, important influences of changes
in society, and progress in developing and understanding administrators' personal/professional needs. Conscience,
creative imagination, and interpersonal skill development are essential leadership qualities

As teacher : promotion of a 'teachers-as-leaders' agenda, one which is conceptualised around a leadership framework
that facilitates a rethinking of teachers' work and that has similarities with that usually associated with school
administrators.

Learners : NML raised in a context where digital technologies form an inextricable partof daily life.

Evaluation Model and Methods

1. In teaching-learning process we conduct evaluation.

Teacher A found out that her achievement rate in the core subjects is quite low. She has made necessary
intervention but still there was no improvement.
Help teacher A, being a classroom leader, along the aspect of instruction and evaluation so that her class
achievement rate will improve meeting the standards.
