Part 2 – Site Visit Records

2.1 Discussions / Record of Activities
1. Met client representatives at AGOSP-5. The SLFE team proceeded with the site visit after a brief
discussion on the instrumentation agenda. Mr. Al Dhilan and Mr. Al Dossary accompanied the
visiting team throughout the visit.
2. SLFE Team requested access to AGOSP-5 library to search for missing drawings. PMT said that it
will be arranged in the succeeding site visits.
2.2 Site Visit Findings
1. Verification of proposed instrument cable routing (SK-PA740052.001)
a) Conducted a walk-through around the proposed location of new substation and SW injection
pumps.
b) Along the proposed cable route south/west side of the Control Building, new trenches were
found leading to the cable tray racks.
c) A cathodic protection panel was found in front of the generator building near the proposed cable
route.
d) Findings to compare with GPR survey.

2. Cable entry to Control Building (SK-PA740052.001, SK-BA-257125.001)

a) Instrument cables enter at the conduit stub-ups at west side of the Control Building. Will reach
Rack Room underfloor thru duct banks.
b) There are currently 16 spare conduit entries or duct banks found outside of the building. 20
spare conduits found inside at Rack Room underfloor. Typical diameter size of conduits is 4”.
c) Final quantity of spare conduit entry and available duct banks to be verified further as number
found inside and outside of the building does not equal.

3. Location of existing cabinets to be utilized and proposed locations for new equipment (SK-
PA740054.001)
a) Confirmed location of exiting marshalling cabinets DCS-MC-02 and DCS-MC-04.
b) Confirmed location of existing system cabinets VMS-SYS-01, ESD-SYS-01 and ESD-SYS-02.
c) Confirmed proposed location for new system cabinet DCS-SYS-07. Currently it is marked
reserved for BI-10-01883.
d) Equipment No. 3, DCS-MC-09 is missing. Fire safety equipment currently are mounted in this
location.
e) Space for Equipment No. 19 does not exist.
f) Other support equipment found (see sketch).

4. Equipment to be demolished at Switchgear Van Nos. 1, 2 and 3 (NA-917164 SH. 001/002/003)

a) Confirmed location of MTC #1 at SG Van No.1. All instrument cables associated with this
equipment shall be verified.
b) Confirmed location of MTC #3 at SG Van No.3. All instrument cables associated with this
equipment shall be verified.
c) Found MTC #2 at SG Van No.2. All instrument cables associated with this equipment shall be
verified. (MTC #2 was not mentioned in SOW and not clarified in the Q&A).

5. Underfloor Cable Routing at Rack Room (SK-BA-257125.001)

a) From conduit cable entry, new homerun cables can be routed in existing cable tray. Tray is
300W x 184D, laid at EL. +75MM alongside Tray-C as shown in sketch. Currently, this tray is

SITE VISIT REPORT
about 20% filled.
b) Underfloor depth is 900mm.

6. Location of new instrument junction boxes for Water Injection Pumps.

a) Currently the area is abandoned. Installing new instrument racks is feasible. However, GPR
survey is required for the proposed underground cable routing.

2.3 Was the purpose of the visit achieved? (If not, state proposed plan forward)
Yes
2.4 Areas of Concern

2.5 Attached

Site Sketches / Measurements Taken? Yes No

2.6 Remarks / Comments?

1. For Digital cabinets related to DCS System new Marshalling cabinet needs to be provided by this
project (See SK-PA740054.001)
2. As the FEED GPR survey covered only the new substation area, it is recommended that new survey
be conducted along the path of proposed underground instrument cable routing.
3. Make reservation for cable entry to rack room based on the spare conduit duct banks that have been
identified.
4. Request PMT to provide existing drawings of the conduit duct banks in order to finalize the cable
routing details. Currently the reference drawings that have been identified are not available in IPLant.
5. As per block diagrams no CMS Cabinet found in the Rack Room
6. As per the System Architecture Diagram ; no Power Automation System Cabinet 113-001-PSA-001
is found in the Rack Room
