NATHANAELIANS CELEBRATING THEIR 21ST

FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY
The Nathanaelians celebrated their
21st Founding Anniversary last
February 20-21, 2019 held at their
very own school, St. Nathanael
Academy Inc.

The first day started with a parade led

by Drum and Lyre and Majorette
members. The program begun with
the performance of the Doxology
participants from the selected grade 8
and 9 students. Afterwards, a
delightful words of welcome was
presented by the school's directress,
Mrs. Belinda S. Musni, which made
the students excited for the upcoming
events.

Subsequently, the grade 11-Stem

presented an extraordinary
performance which made the entire
students delighted. Right after their
performance, students from the grade
school department, grade 1 - 3, also
presented a pleasing performace.
They performed an adorable
presentation which made the higher
grade levels blissful.
Following the flow of the program,
the next grade to perform was the
junior high school department. The
students was given a theme for their
intermission number and their theme
was festival dance. Each grade level
from the JHS had their own festivals
which they chose themselves.
According to their particular festivals,
they need to make and wear a
headdress which should be made of
recycled materials.
The first grade level to perform was
the grade 8 - Galatians with their
Panagbenga Festival. Their
performance was
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
The headdress they wore matched
with their festival theme and was
made of cardboards, newspapers,
recycled papers and snack wrappers.
For the next grade which was the
grade 9 - Ephesians, their festival was
Sampaguita Festival. Their
performance was also good and their
headdress was nice. The headdress
they wore was made of used
illustration board, plastic bottles and
summer hats. The second to the last
grade to perform was the grade 10 -
Thessalonians having Hermosa
Festival. Their performance was
great and their headdress was
colourful which matched with the
theme of their festival. Their
headdress was made of used
cardboard and some crepe papers.
Lastly, the grade 7 - Romans
peformed with Sinulog Festival as
their festival dance. Their
performance looked wonderful and
their headdress was made of unused
folders by the teachers and sequence
or beads.
When the all the junior high school
students was done performing, the
judges which were Ms. Rose Ann
Timbang, Ms. Stephanie Aquino and
Mr. Rod totalled the scores to see
who won the competition. While they
were doing that, the remaining grade
school students from grade 4 - 6
presented their performances to make
use of the time.
Time has passed and the winners
were ready to be announced by the
hosts, Madaellane David and Margie
Bunyi, from 11-Stem St. Mark. The
winners of the best headdress was
announced first. The 3rd runner up
was the grade 10 - Thessalonians,
next the 2nd placer was the grade 7 -
Romans, for the first placer it was the
grade 8 - Galatians and lastly, the
champion was the grade 9 -
Ephesians.
After some time for the giving of
awards for the best headdress, the
winners for the festival dance was
announced next. The 3rd runner up
was the grade 10 - Thessalonians,
that has been their 2nd time to
receive the 3rd place. For the 2nd
runner up, again, it has been the
grade 7 - Galatians. The next
awarding goes to the first runner up
and this time the winner was the
grade 9 - Ephesians and finally, the
champion was the grade 8 -
Galatians.
Grade 8 - Galatians winning that
award was totally unexpected for
them because they havent won any
competitions before so it was their
first time to experience winning a
competition.
The program was done after the
announcing of winners so finally, the
students were free to look around the
school and enjoy their foundation
day.
On the second day of celebrating the
SNA's 21st founding anniversary, the
elementary department had their
family day at the parish hall from
7:00am - 12:00pm in the afternoon.
Before the program started, the
students registered their names first
so that the teachers will know who
attended the family day. The program
started with a prayer led by the grade
6 student, Rheena Mikylla Gomez.
Right after that, the grade school
students had their zumba. They
performed per grade level. Ofcourse
the students became tired after
presenting a zumba so they had their
recess first. Continuing the program,
the next activity they did was face
painting. The parents/guardians of the
students was the one who face
painted their sons and daughters.
Next was the bingo which the
students and their respective family
played. After all the activites, the
students had their boodle fight for
their lunch.
The elementary students enjoyed and
had fun with the activities with their
own families. They were allowed to
go home after their family day since
the grade school students was
accompanied by their parents already.
The Junior highschool students
enjoyed their 2nd day of foundation
day by going to the booths prepared
by the Senior highschool students.
There were Horror booth, Marriage
booth, Movie booth, and Food or
snack booth which the Nathanaelians
enjoyed at. Not only the booths made
the students enjoy but also the fun
games and activities prepared by the
teachers so the students won’t get
bored and sick going into the booths
all over again.
AN EVENING OF
GLAMOUR
Last February 22, 2019, the grades
ten and twelve had their JS prom in
Saint Nathanael Academy Inc. at its
parish-hall from five o’clock pm to
midnight, which was organized by
Ms. Rose Ann Timbang. The MCs
were Ms. Katherine Tuazon Meneses
and Mr. Rodrigo Velasco.
The prom night started with picture
takings at a photo booth arranged by
the school’s SGO. When the clock
struck six, that is when the program
began.
Everyone who attended the prom
night had their respective entourage.
After the entrance of most of the
guests, Ms. Alma mater-Jennalyn
Bautista, Ms. Service-Elline Jacobo,
Ms. Excellence-Madelaine Ivette
Cruz, and Ms. Faith-Angelica Jean
Laus had their very own entrance and
showcased a great dance
performance.
Afterwards, the lighting of candles
commenced. Grades twelve and ten
formed sets. Set a for the senior high
and set b for the junior high. The
lighting of the candles then started
from the end of the line towards the
person in the front so that everyone
can have their candles lit.
After this event, it’s time for the
awarding. Prom queen was Ms.
Lorrea Tan and also got the awards
for Ms. Cotillioner and best in
evening gown. Prom king was
Jericho Pamintuan while Ms. and Mr.
Senior were Ms. Noemi Musni and
Mr. Romelyn Dizon. Then, Ms.
Elline Jacobo and Mr. Lance Legaspi
got the title for Ms. and Mr. Junior.
Lastly, Ms. Reema Manalili Turkman
bagged the award for the face of the
night.
Following it was the time for
discotillion, a cotillion with a mixed
of disco theme in the song. And
ofcourse everyone must be hungry,
the dishes were sipu egg, fish fillet,
pancit and iced tea for their drinks
specially made by the school’s
canteen.
Lastly, the party kicked off and the
students began dancing their hearts
out and enjoying the rest of the night
with their friends.

RECOLLECTION
January 19,2019 (Saturday) at
8:00am -12:00nn, the students of St.
Nathanael Academy from the Junior
Highschool Department had their
recollection at their own school. The
Junior Highschool students were
facilitated by the 3rd Year AB
Philosophy students of Mother Good
Counsel Seminary. The facilitators
taught the Nathanaelians to recall,
reflect and renew.
Every grade level had their own
specific topic to discuss about with
their own facilitators. The topic of the
grade seven students was about their
relationship with God and was
facilitated by Sem. Jeremy Briones.
For the grade eight and nine students,
they had the same topic which was
community but they had different
facilitators which were Sem. Clark
Lois Quiboloy for the grade eight and
Sem. Christian Jake Cabrera for the
grade nine and for the grade ten, their
topic was vocation that was
facilitated by sem. Ivan Joseph
Castro. Lastly, the grade eleven had
love and hope for topic.
Base on the interview from the grade
seven student, Angela Tumbaga, she
learned that God is our savior and
you should always need to have trust
and faith in God.
STUDENTS
RETREAT
January 28 -30,2019 the grade 12
students of St. Nathanael Acadmy
had their retreat at Betania Retreat
House which was located at Baguio
with their co-students from their
cluster schoold
The significance of retreat is to
exhilarate and preceive the
importance of life. The Grade 12
students is graduating for this school
year, they wanted the students to
enlighten more with everything. That
could help them to make the right
decisions in their life. Also, it could
be their guide through all the way.
Their call time is 4:00 am in the
morning for them to arrive early at
their intended destination. They stop
over at Manaoag, Pangasinan to had
their breakfast and a little visit at Our
Lady of Manaoag Church. After that
wonderful visit, they continue their
trip on their way to Baguio. As they
arrive at the retreat house, a warmful
greet welcome them. Of course they
had their lunch first and they gave the
students a rest/siesta and a afternoon
snacks. After that satisfying rest and
snacks, the session one started.
They're able to take a shower and to
get ready. The evening prayer was led
by St. Nathanael Academy.
Afterwards, they had their dinner
with other students and the session
two started.
The second day, as the students woke
up to had their shower. Afterwards
they had a morning prayer led by St.
Catherine's Academy and had their
breakfast and the session three
started. Thereafter, the students had
their morning snacks and the session
four started. Later on, a delicious
foods waited them to had lunch. After
eating a delightful foods, they had a
rest/siesta and had another round of
food, afternoon snacks. Another
session started followed by a mass.
The choir led by Holy Trinity School,
first reading read by St. Catherine's
Academy student, responsorial psalm
read by San Guillermo Archdiocesan
School and the prayers of faithful led
by Holy Trinity School. After the
mass they had their dinner and
another session started.
The third day rise, as usual they had a
shower. Morning prayer led by San
Guillermo Archdiocesan School and
had their breakfast before the
preparation. Afterwards, they
prepared their things for check out
and morning snacks. The students
bought 'pasalubong for their love
ones at city market and its time to go
home!!
All foods were provided by the
retreat house.
As a catholic every session activity
started with a prayer. They talk about
a lot of things like, family problems,
relationship with God they also talked
about if God really exist. Some
students were able to share their
family problems. Relationship with
God, how's their relation with God?
They discuss if God really exist, and
it made them realized that 'Yeah, God
really exist'.
According to the data,the grade 12
students Jennalyn Bautista and Glyzel
Gonzales "Walk by faith not by
sight".They learned the ability to
belief someone especially the one
who trust you the most. Daniel Ian
Pabustan of Grade 12 said that he
enjoyed the retreat, he enjoyed
having activities with other friends
from their cluster school. He also said
that they are able to make some new
friends. It also strengthen his faith.
Indeed, they learn a lot of things
during the retreat. They had some
new friends, good thing isn't it?
TEACHER'S
RETREAT
February 4-6,2019 the teacher of St.
Nathanael Academy had their retreat
at Betania Retreat House which also
located at Baguio with their co-
teachers from their cluster schools
As a Catholic School the teachers
were yearly attending the retreat.
According to some information the
main purpose of retreat is to breath
for a while and forget some problems
in life. To have some quality time
with God. To learn more moral
things. To help them in their life. It
helps them to enlighten more about
life.
The grade 4 adviser Ma'am Maffy
Feliciano learned that 'A lot of things
that I've been taken for granted. I
should be thankful all the time,also it
may sound cliche but life is precious'.
The food was provided by the retreat
house. They had a chance to to roam
around Baguio and to enjoy their visit
there.

BEING FEISTY?
Some of the students nowadays, were
barely following the school policy
inside St. Nathanael Academy Inc.
Bringing cellphones or any electrical
gadgets, proper haircut, complete
school uniform, littering and late,
these are the most common rules that
the students barely follows.
Especially BRINGING
CELLPHONES the school is only
allowing the students if it is for
school purposes or for emergency.
But some of them are abusing it, like
using it for online games when break
time. They don't have to bring
cellphones because it can affect their
studying. What if those cellphones
accidentally inside the school? The
teacher is not in charge and should'nt
be blame of.
PROPER HAIRCUT, specifically for
boys, this is because the school wants
the students to look a decent and nice
person. But the students were
complaining, 'why do they have to?'
it doesn't matter anyway because it's
just hair.
COMPLETE SCHOOL UNIFORM,
especially not wearing their ID. Of
course wearing ID is important
because it used to know the profile of
a student. Not wearing a white socks,
some of the students is usually
wearing a black socks or the iconic
socks they called, but as usual,
students were objecting that the
'socks it's just an inner garments'.
LITTERING, many students were
just throwing their trash in any corner
of the school, of course as a catholic
school they want to look the school as
clean as possible. Is this really
important? Think so because,
cleanliness is a must everywhere.
BEING LATE, the last but not the
least. Many students being late. The
school policy is, before 7:00 am, the
students should be at school that time.
If the students are late, they will be
given an admission slip that's need to
be sign by their Prefect of Discipline
which is Mrs/Ma'am Agnes T.
Torres, and they are automatically
absent in their attendance. For the
teachers, time is gold and every
second is important, but for the
students its okay for them to be late at
least they still attend their class/es. Is
attending class in time important?
Yes, because attendance is always a
must.
Is following those rules necessary?
Why is it difficult for the students to
follow the school rules? Do they even
care about the school rules? Are they
not affraid of the consequences for
not following the rules?
Of course following rules is
necessary. As St. Nathanael Acdemy
is a catholic school, they wanted the
students well disciplined. Students
must follow the rules for them to
learn the right thing to do not only in
school. For the students, they don't
need to follow those rules, at least
they attend and learning at their class.
It's difficult for them to follow the
school rules because there were some
other students that are really unruly
and naughty. That's why the teachers
were having a hard time to discipline
each student.
Of course some students care about
the school rules, afraid about the
consequences for not obeying the
school rules and some of them don't.
They care about the school rules
because if not, their grades will be
affected. Some of them are not
because, they're accustomed to
reproach. Of course this is all about
their behavior, and behavior is part of
their grades. Each contrary have a
