Proposed Title: Implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) and RFID Utilization for
Attendance Monitoring System with SMS Notification

Scope of the Study:The proposed Attendance Monitoring System with SMS Notification
will:
 Monitor time-in/out of the students and faculty members
through NFC card reader.
 Sends SMS notification to the parents and adviser when
students comes in/out of the school.
 Saves student’s attendance in the system’s database for
attendance monitoring purposes.
 Send SMS notification to the principal if the student has 3
consecutive absences.
 Generate monthly report of individual student, class and
grade level.
Limitations of the The proposed Attendance Monitoring System with SMS Notification
Study: is limited only to the following:
 The system will not accept reply from the recipients of the
SMS notification generated.
 Other information will not be available in the system such as
student’s grades, schedules and the like.
 Payroll of each employee will not be generated by the
system.
Project PROGRAM SPECIFICATION
Design/Development The proposed Attendance Monitoring System with SMS
Plan: Notification will be able to send text to the parents and adviser
once the student swipes his/her identification card to the system’s
scanner machine. The system can also do automatic counting of
the student’s attendance. In the case that a student has three (3)
consecutive absences, an auto-generated SMS will be send to
the principal to notify him of the student’s habitual absence.
Student’s attendance will automatically be saved to the system’s
database for reference in generating monthly report. Aside from
student’s attendance, the system will also have the functionality
to do the monitoring of the faculty’s attendance but will not be
responsible in payroll computation.
