Argument Paper

There is a lot of controversy on nursing, they hold an important part in our labor work

force and history as a nation. Nurse can be your best friend or your worst enemy. In this

research paper I want to go in depth on how nurses can be beneficial or how they can be

detrimental when it comes to working as a nurse and I hope this research paper can help give

insight and help anyone who, nurse or not, is facing the decision of becoming a nurse. In my

opinion we should have more nursing schools, more benefits from building strong nursing

communities and also making easier for the students who are attending nursing programs

without making difficult for them to apply me personally I am studying nurse even though I

haven't gotten into the program I felt like it is difficult to get into the program for the nursing

schools here Salt lake like university of utah westminster college this is the only nursing schools

that I want to apply in the future even though I don't know how their programs work I am

looking forward on making more research about the nursing school.

On the other hand nurses today are playing new rule in coordinating care from multiple

providers, managing patient with care needs, and helping patients transition out of hospitals and

into the homes and also other settings. They are also working as health coaches and in other

ways to prevent illness and promote wellness. Nurses play bigger rule for taking care the patient

dealing with the patients rudeness because not everyone they’re helping is going to be nice. My

question is since nurse have to all this work to save lives why they are not providing more
Hashi2

nursing programs. In the article it states that traditional RNs and advanced practice registered

nurses (APRNs), meanwhile are playing expanded roles as the health system evolves to meet

new needs. The question is if RNs are playing expanded roles in the health system would they

get support and positive feedback from the patient even though it depends on what kind of

patient they are dealing with?. There is always negative and positive for everything you do for

people whether it is good or bad, but it is their job nurses to stay calm and help through their

time in the hospital without being aggressive or shown them any actions of them to think you

being rude to them.

There is pro and con of what RNs good at doing for the patient and what they are not so

good of doing for the patient, dealing patient especially if you don't mind seeing blood or

smelling some other things nurses deals with, it takes prave person doing all these unpleasant

things. If helping and dealing with sick people is what you want to do or enjoy doing it, than

nurse what do it all and here is the positive side of what nurses are so important and very trusted

profession. It might not come as a surprise but people trust nurses since they are the ones who

are taking care of their health and helping them to feel better, “for 15 straight years to a 2016

gallup poll nursing has long been a well-respected career, and that is something nurses should be

proud of.'' As I said, there is always good and bad comes along the way of this career but at the

end it all worth the negativity and positivity that comes with it.

It is important for nurses to get feedback from people whether it is a good feedback or not

because this feedback makes them to do their job and help the patient. When mildredn Jones, RN

became the nurse manager on an acute psychiatric unit that had experienced a lack of leadership

for many years, her goal was to raise the quality of patient. There are many nurses like mildred

who are inspiring the world with their greatness and motivating the future nurses. Giving
Hashi3

positive feedback to others takes practice and to develop a more balanced. Not nurses always

receives a positive feedback but there is a negative feedback whether it is from a supervisor,

coworker, or even an educator. However it is important to understand that nurses are human too

and they can make mistakes that are not perfect but sure they do their best to help the patient,

even though some nurses are rude to their patients lack of communication with their patient

asking them how they are feeling and to provide the help they need.

On the other hand Ed Wagner, MD,MPH, he said that the benefits are clear. That the

practices engaging nurses in these new, expanded ways are showing better clinical. Which means

showing better clinical performance and better patient experience. These experiences will help

nurses to do better which means better care. “Also LEAP’s states in the article that finding echo

a 2010 report by the Institute of Medicine on the future of nursing that said nurses must play new

and expanded roles to improve access to quality care and lower cost”.(Nurses,2108) Nurses are

well positioned to help and meet with their patients and delivering more care in the community.

The more nurses we have the more help patients get when they go to the hospital instead of

waiting for hours and hours their name to be called, it will make easier for the community if

there were more nurses at the hospitals .

This article “Mary Naylor said that we are going to see increased accountability and

responsibility for nurses in the general areas of transitional care and care coordination. Such as

patients, homes and community based clinics”. (Nurse,2018) The other thing that nurses do

which makes their job a little hard working door to door. It is clear that nurses play a bigger role

in our society and they do the most work in the hospitals. It seems easy at the beginning when

you are going to school for this major it seems fun but getting into the programs and doing

clinics going hospital to hospital needs a lot of work and study. You have to put in work and time
Hashi4

to make nursing more interesting. Well that been said this major is not as easy as it looks. The

road to success of this journey in this career is to think smart, work smart, and keep working

hard. It’s crucial that you stay confident, stay true to yourself, and know that you can do

anything. There is always ups and downs for everything that you are doing in life and good

things takes time and being patient. Some good advice that I will give myself and the new

nursing students is be hample have study group don't do things alone in college because we

always think that college is like high school but the truth is it is not the same not even close. In

college everything is in your own because you are finally an adult who knows what you are

doing.

Becoming a nurse doesn't come with an easy the road of success comes with being a hard

working and a lot of sacrifices, in order to achieve your dream of becoming a nurse you have to

make researches if it comes schools going to the hospital or even doing volunteering as CNA.

personally I haven't done any of this research yer but it is my next move and as I said at the

beginning of this paper I haven't seen or heard any other nursing schools in Salt Lake City rather

than University of Utah and Westminster college which I have not contacted any of their

counselings to get information to know how their programs work. It is a scary career for taking

responsibility for the patient, seen blood and smell unpleasant things it took a brave person to do

it all, believing in yourself and putting in a work make the journey easier and fun. There was a

couple of times that I tried to change my major because of the things that comes along the way

wasn't something I really wanted to or something that I am sure doing it but knowing that nurse

was something I always wanted to do and it was my dream. Taking caring of the patient and

making them feel better by giving them hope and telling them that one day they are going to be

better and health makes me want to stick with my major of becoming nurse one day, and I want
Hashi5

to advice for these coming up new nurses to believe in themselves and trust the journey because

one day their hard will payoff.

Writing this paper gave me the strength to believe the beauty in my dreams and not give

up on it no matter how hard things get. Alos the articles that I have read motivated me and taught

me a lot that I needed to know about nurse it also helped me how to be prepared in the future.

Not only that, I learned a lot about nurse but also this motivates me to be a better person in the

future. This paper challenged me to be a better student and a better writer. I hope that this paper

helps the new nurse student who are coming to school.
