ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CAN EXCEED HUMAN INTELLIGENCE?

It is highly acknowledged that the role of technology has increased and people have argued

about this subject for many years. Some people claim that technology has more drawbacks than its

benefits and in the future it can be dangerous for the humanity. However, some people reckon that

technology brings about lots of benefits such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the AI may be useful for

the humanity in the future. Although there are arguments about AI, there is one striking reason why

AI can exceed human intelligence is associated with AI’s preterhuman abilities.

The fact that the AI have more powerful abilities, which cannot be achieved by people, is one

noteworthy reason why it can exceed the human intelligence. In the first place, the AI can be

interconnected. Individuals cannot be connected because each person have different brains, DNAs,

features or abilities, so it seems impossible that every people can do same things at the same time,

but the AI can achieve this. For instance, Harari (2018, p.30) mentions a study, traffic rules has been

changing and now and then most drivers are unaware about the rules or they do not obey the rules.

Because of these reasons, traffic accidents have increased. However, if the AI is used in

transportations and managed from one centre, traffic accident rates may decrease owing to

automatic system. That is, people are not enough careful to obey the rules, but the AI can overcome

when be programmed. Besides that, another feature of AI can be updated. To illustrate, without the

AI, scientists find a new treatment but they cannot announce these cures all over the world and a
doctor who works in Africa cannot learn something new. However, by using AI, scientists can upload

new treatments in sources and people can be informed about processes easily. In a nutshell, these

two profound abilities show that the AI can exceed human intelligence in the future.

Nonetheless, there are some people who are against these ideas assert that the artificial

intelligence cannot exceed human intelligence because of failure rates. According to Griffin (2017)

those reckon that even scientists developing the AI can make mistakes, can solve problems in a

wrong way or can fail. For example, Facebook’s robots failed when Mark Zuckerberg activated them

and the robots found a new language which could not be solved by scientists. Also, Stephen

Hawking’s opinion shows that the AI can lead to the end of humanity and it can be hazardous as seen

in the example. This means that people should be careful about the AI because of these kinds of

possibilities. There may be some truth about this argument, but the AI’s defailments can change and

can be controlled when be thought other sides. Facebook’s chatbots prove that AI can develop

yourself without scientists, they can produce new treatments or they can solve some problems. Also,

if AI try to do something hazardous, scientists can manage and prevent them. In brief, the AI’ failures

can be corrected and people can notice that the AI’s achievements cannot be ignored.

When everything is taken into account, the AI can exceed human intelligence due to its powerful

abilities such as being interconnected or being updated easily. Although there are a number of

disagreements about this topic, the arguments given above prove that the AI will be more useful in

every area than humans. As far as I am concerned, we are in the 21st century, so we should support

the AI as much as possible and the humanity can be prepared a new future: Future of AI.
