HSM UP-GRADATION PROJECT

Contractor scope of work

The contractor shall be responsible for the cleanly of the STAINLESS STEEL
PIPES, which has to undergo Pre-pickling/ Line pickling and flushing. The technical scope
of work (i.e parameters to be followed while the whole cycle of operation) is given below.
Rest technical scope, as piping scope, cost, etc. will remain same as per the work order.

Parameters for Pre-Processing:-

Pickling:
In total solution the max permissible parameters are
HNO3 -10% max
HF -0.75% max
Temperature range 40 to 55oC
Hydro jetting min of 200 bar
Surfaces shall be ensured for no traces of the acid

Passivation:
HNO3 -10% max
Na2Cr2o7- 2% max
Surfaces shall be ensured for no traces of the acid

The exact process parameters and process time shall be decided at site by seeing the samples.

Parameters for Line Processing:-

In case of Pre- Processed pipes the Degreasing and Pickling can be eliminated.
1.Degreasing:
Soda Ash 1.5% / commercial degreasing agent
Tri Sodium Phosphate 0.5% / commercial degreasing agent

2.Pickling:
HNO3 –5 to 6% max
HF -0.5% max
Temperature range 40 to 55oC

3.Primary Oil Flushing:

The servo system HLP 32 shall be used for flushing. The NAS 6 and below is
accepted during the primary flushing ensuring the flow rate at the Reynolds No 6000 and
on line filtering. Party can use appropriate filters to achieve the NAS class stated above.

4.Secondary Oil Flushing:

The servo system HLP 68 shall be used for flushing. The NAS 4 and below is
accepted during the secondary flushing ensuring the flow rate at the Reynolds No 6000 and
on line filtering. Party will be given appropriate pump and filters to achieve the NAS class
stated above.

4.Final Oil Flushing:
The party shall be responsible for the box-up of all the valves, manifolds, etc. which
has been bypassed for the pickling. And then the servo system HLP 68 shall be used for
flushing. The NAS 4 and below is accepted during the secondary flushing.
