1 SDE User Roles

Access to various functions within SDE is controlled by assigning users one or more of four
basic roles. They are:

 Site Engineer: This role grants a user access to the Site Management area. In this area
the user is able to create sites, manage bills of material, and assign activities to SDE
Mobile users.

 SIR Template Prime: This role grants a user access to the SIR Management area. In this
area the user is able to manage Site Investigation Report templates and descriptor files.

 QA Template Prime: This role grants a user access to the QA Management area. In this
area the user is able to manage Quality Audit report templates and descriptor files.

 Manager: This role grants a user permission to create projects in SDE and assign sites to
them. The Manager is also able to close a project when all activities assigned to it are
completed. Managers may also generate SDE usage reports.

 Administrator: This role is intended for NDDP Operations and is used for user account
management and Product Attribute Database maintenance.

Any given SDE user can be assigned multiple roles, so, for example, if there is a member of
the project team who is expected to create projects and manage templates, that user would
be assigned both the Manager and Template Prime roles. In general, the roles in SDE map to
Ericsson NRO roles as follows:

SDE Role NRO Role Notes

Site Site Engineer; Since SDE is an internal Ericsson tool, and the Site
Engineer Implementation Engineer is commonly a non-Ericsson resource (ASP, SP,
Coordinator FSO), ECN access may need to be arranged for that user.
Depending on the project, the Implementation Coordinator
may manage the sites in place of the Site Engineer.

Template Advanced The Advanced Engineer is responsible for ensuring the

Prime Engineer1 Ericsson solution can be integrated with the various
installation environments. For this reason, the AE is
responsible for ensuring the SIR templates used meet
project requirements.

Manager Implementation The Implementation Coordinator generally oversees all ASP

Coordinator; site activities and, in conjunction with the Implementation
Implementation Manager, ensures that SDE projects are correctly defined
Manager and that progress is made according to expectations.

Reversing the view, each NRO role will generally be assigned SDE roles as follows:

 Advanced Engineer -> Template Prime

 Implementation Manager -> Manager

 Implementation Coordinator -> Manager, Site Engineer

 Site Engineer -> Site Engineer

Depending on project needs, other NRO roles (Deployment Supervisor, Project Manager,
Project Planner, and so on) may be included and assigned permissions as necessary.

1
While the Advanced Engineer role is generally tasked with this type of work, the Template Prime may, in fact, be
someone in the CU who works directly with the customer on survey requirements, or some other team member tasked
with establishing ways of working for a project. The Template Prime role should be assigned to the project team
member who is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the survey template for the project.

Access to specific project, site, template, and activity information in SDE can be controlled on
a country and customer basis. Users can be assigned multiple customer/country
combinations. As well, there is the option to assign the user to all customers within a country,
or the user can be granted global access (all countries and customers). Read and write
accesses are controlled separately, so, for example, a user may be able to read information
related to all customers within a country, but only edit information related to one or two.

2 SDE Mobile User Roles

Since SDE Mobile is primarily intended for FSO, ASP, or SP personnel acting as Site
Engineers on Ericsson’s behalf, its roles are managed separately from the roles in SDE. The
three roles in SDE Mobile are:

 ASP Writer: This user will only use the SDE Mobile app in the field to complete the site
survey. The ASP Writer may reserve, edit, release, and complete an activity, but does not
have the authority to validate or reject it.

 ASP Manager: The user with this role validates or rejects SIR activities after they have
been finished by the personnel on site. This user will check activities for completeness
and correctness as they are completed. In addition, the ASP Manager manages the user
accounts of the ASP Writers, and can create other ASP Managers. This user is also able
to release activities that are otherwise frozen due to, for example, a damaged tablet or if
an ASP Writer leaves the Service Provider.

 ASP Coordinator: This user role is similar to the ASP Manager, but is able to validate
activities and manage ASP Writer and ASP Manager user accounts for more than one
ASP company, and can also create other ASP Coordinators.

The ASP Manager may be an Ericsson employee, or may be a supervisor-level employee at

the ASP or FSO company. An ASP Manager may only add or edit users within their own ASP
organization, so if an Ericsson employee is acting as ASP Manager for multiple ASPs on a
project, that employee will require the ASP Coordinator role. Additionally, multiple ASP
Managers may be assigned to an ASP if required. Refer to the following for examples of how
SDE Mobile roles can be organized.

When an ASP is set up in SDE, one ASP Manager account is set up with it. That ASP
Manager is then responsible for creating external ASP Writer accounts, additional ASP
Manager accounts if needed, and for initially managing external ASP Writer passwords (ASP
Writers are also able to reset their own passwords). ASP Coordinators may add ASP Writer
and ASP Manager accounts for multiple ASP companies.

When their accounts are created in SDE, internal SDE users are automatically given an ASP
Manger role corresponding to an ASP designated, “ASP_<userid>”. SDE Mobile passwords
for internal users are managed through the settings menu in SDE. If an internal user needs to
have an ASP Manager role for an external ASP, a request must be sent to NDDP Support.

3 Adding User Accounts

Accounts for SDE and SDE Mobile roles are created and managed through two systems.

3.1 SDE Roles, ASP Managers, and ASP Coordinators

User access for all SDE roles and the ASP Manager and ASP Coordinator roles is secured by
opening a ticket with NDDP Support
(https://ericoll.internal.ericsson.com/sites/NDDP_Portal/Pages/NDDP-Support.aspx). Detailed
instructions on how to log in to the ITSM SRM tool in which tickets are opened can be found
here: http://erilink.ericsson.se/eridoc/erl/objectId/09004cff868283bb?docno=EAB-
13:038231Uen&action=current&format=msw8. ECN access is required.

To request accounts, log in to the SRM tool, and select the NDDP (PCI, SDE) category, and
then for SDE Roles, select Create SDE User, or for SDE Mobile Roles, select Create / Modify
SDE Mobile User from the list of request types. Click Request Now to open the request
dialog.

In the request form, fill in the required fields (marked with a red asterisk).

For internal SDE accounts, there is an Excel template that needs to be downloaded, filled in,
and attached to the request form (use the User_template.xlsx link provided). To attach the
completed template to the request form, click the green plus symbol in the upper left. Up to
10 accounts can be created in a single template; multiple templates can be attached to one
request.

Figure 5 SDE User Request Form

For SDE Mobile ASP Managers and ASP Coordinators, only one account can be created per
request. It is important to select the correct ASP with which the user is associated, as
activities and users are only manageable based on the ASP. If the ASP company is not listed
in the attached Excel list (use the list_asps_sdem.xlsx link provided), and needs to be added
to the system, select the checkbox next to The list contains new ASP(s), and specify the name
in the box above it. The Ericsson employee who will request the creation of ASP Manager and
ASP Coordinator accounts needs to have their name added to an authorization list
(https://erilink.ericsson.se/eridoc/erl/objectId/09004cff892bd0c3?docno=ETH-
15:000202Uen&action=current&format=msw12) by their regional SDE Deployment prime prior
to making the request.

3.2 ASP Managers and ASP Writers

ASP Managers add ASP Writer accounts directly in SDE Mobile through the following link,
https://admin.sdemobile.ericsson.net, using Google Chrome as the browser. The ASP
Manager or ASP Coordinator logs in with his or her SDE Mobile account ID and password.
Clicking on Users opens the User Management area. Clicking the “+” symbol opens a dialog
for adding users.

Figure 7 SDE Mobile User Add Dialog

The dialog will automatically create a Login by prepending the first letter of the first name to
the user’s last name. As well, the dialog builds the email address based on the first and last
name, and the @ericsson.com domain. These fields can be changed as required. Ensure
that the password is passed on to the ASP Writer correctly. Random passwords can be
generated at this website: https://www.random.org/passwords.

ASP Managers may be added to an ASP as well as ASP Writers. It is important to note that
an ASP Manager may change an ASP Writer to an ASP Manager, but once the change is
submitted, it cannot be changed back except by a system administrator.

When ASP Writers log into the SDE Mobile App, they will be able to see all activities that have
been registered to the ASP. It is important that each ASP Writer is clear which activities are
assigned to them so that site activities are not reserved by the wrong person, and so that site
survey information does not get overwritten accidentally.

3.3 Tips and Tricks

 Use only lowercase letters when entering your Signum in the SRM login page. Do not use
any capital letters.

 Ensure the correct password is entered in SRM when logging in and allow several
seconds for authentication or the account may lock. It will automatically unlock after 30
minutes, at which time the password can be reset. Do not enter anything in the
Authentication field on the SRM login screen.

 If the SRM account is locked and the proscribed password reset process does not work,
send an email to the SDT Operations Service Desk
sdt.operations.servicedesk@ericsson.com, and ask to have the account reset.

 Internet Explorer is the only supported browser for use with SRM. Google Chrome is the
supported browser for SDE Mobile Administration.

 Enter account information for all users who need to be added into SDE for the project in
one NDDP support request if possible to expedite processing. Ensure that all SDE and
SDE Mobile roles are stated in the request for each user being added.

 Up to three country/customer combinations can be entered for a user at one time. If more
combinations are needed, they can be added through an additional SRM request.

 An Ericsson employee must enter an NDDP Support request to setup ASP companies
associated with a project. One ASP Manager account is setup when the ASP company is
added to the system. Additional ASP Managers can be added to the ASP through the
SDE Mobile Administration area.

 ASP Writer accounts are managed through SDE Mobile Administration by the ASP
Manager or ASP Coordinator, and are not established through NDDP Support.

 An ASP Manager can only manage ASP Writer and other ASP Manager accounts that are
associated with the same ASP.

 An ASP Coordinator can manage ASP Writer, ASP Manager, and ASP Coordinator
accounts for multiple ASPs.
