St.

James St George Episcopal August 2019

Church
From the Priest-in-Charge Breaking News

I greet all the faithful The Rev Brian Pavlak

of Saint James and accepted the call to be Priest-
Saint George Church in-charge of St. James St.
in the name of the George Episcopal Church
Lord. I am honored, effective August 1, 2019.
humbled, and happy
that your vestry has
asked me to be your Music in the Park
Priest-in-Charge, for
at least the next
year.

Since my ordination
almost ten years ago I
have enjoyed serving at several churches in the
Diocese of Bethlehem, both briefly and long-term,
most recently for three years as Interim Priest-in-
Charge at St. Stephen’s Wilkes-Barre. Everywhere
that I have served, I have tried to celebrate a
respectful and fulfilling liturgy, to preach an
educational (if perhaps not always inspiring)
sermon, and to support parishioners in their lives
and missions.

Now I look forward to getting to know you and to

join with you in parish life and worship. My hope
is for us all to work together to build up a
community of believers in, and servers of, Jesus the
Christ.

My residence in Kingston, PA is a good forty

minutes from the church, but I should be coming
up once a week to the office where anyone can
come and visit. Otherwise, contact me by leaving a
note in the office at church, or e-mailing me at A BIG Thank You
therev@brianpavlac.org, or phone at 570-814-
9698 (although I may not answer because I leave Thank you to Applebee’s
the phone mostly off - cursed telemarketers!!), but and to everyone who
leave a voice-mail. Blessings to all. stopped by for breakfast
and volunteered for this event. The Flapjacks were
Brian+ delicious, and over $600 was raised.
