 MISSION

WOOD-SKIN® was founded in 2013 to help architects and

designer all around the world bridging the gap between
WOOD-SKIN

digital representation and the building environment.

Thanks to our patented technology, WOOD-SKIN®, we are

able to plane everyday materials into the third dimension
and the digital era.

We are architects, designer, and engineers with a strong

passion for details and materials, digital fabrication, and
software which led us to trigger new unexpected possibilities
out of conventional materials such as wood, felt, cork, plastic,
metals and more.

We believe that real innovations lie at the intersection of

composite materials and digital fabrication where technology
becomes the enabling factor for new building methods and
aesthetics.

AT ITS BEST

The WOOD-SKIN® process transforms rigid materials into 3D

products, sheets of a “programmable” composite with the
potential to be coded and to obtain a specific form thanks to
the one step fabrication process. The patented technology
allows the panel to fold along the “digital hinges”, just like
WOOD-SKIN

an origami would. From the flat state, the material evolves

into the three-dimensional state where it can take endless
shapes and functions without loose the original strength.

Possibilities are endless and software driven, giving to the

designer a whole new design grammar to bring their most
creative ideas to life.

WOOD-SKIN® gave, at first, organic shapes capabilities to

wooden panels, in many different aesthetics thanks to the
various range of wooden veneers.

Thanks to virtuous partnerships with selected Italian and

international brands, it is a process applied to many different
rigid materials such as aluminum, solid surface or HPL, giving
them a new three-dimensional life.

Fold Panels are 3D panels with engaging geometries,
built inside a rectangular module (available also an
acoustic version). Fold panels are uniquely suited to
easily transform a space, with the colors that best fit
the project’s overall vision.

The Fold Panels are made to be easy to install and maintain, the pieces
are numbered and have to be mounted on the given frame making
sure all the sides are precisely and carefully fastened.

Once the panel it is complete it has to be anchored to the wall or ceiling

by simply snapping it into the aluminum profile previously positioned.
