 Livelihood activities of Out-of-School-Youth
B. Establishing a purpose for  To present the new lesson the teacher will let
the lesson the students do Activity 1 so that they will

instances of the new lesson vocabulary in preparation of their research
proposal writing.
 The teacher will give handouts to each group
on:
Activity 1: Making Words Meaningful

box, choose the expression that corresponds
to the meaning of the italicized word in the
sentence.

and practicing new skills #1 power point presentation, the guidelines in
writing Chapter 3 of their thesis particularly
1. research design (either qualitative or
quantitative)
2. instrument used,

4. analysis procedure
 Fact sheets on guidelines in writing research
design (either qualitative or quantitative),
instrument used, data collection and analysis
procedure will be given to the students
 Handouts for the activity will be given to
students.
 Activity: Differentiated Jigsaw

Introduction: This is a cooperative strategy where

members of each group work with another peer
group who has another topic and return to their
respective home group for sharing what they have
learned from another group.
Directions:
1. Each group will choose two members of their
group to go to another group whose topic is different
from them (thesis title). A member may choose a
number from the box to determine the group to
immerse.
2. Each immersing member will choose a portion of
chapter 3 in which they are weak to discuss it with
another group to gain insights in the following
manner:
1. research design (either qualitative or
quantitative)
2. instrument used,
3. data collection and
4. analysis procedure
Groups 1, 2, 3. Conduct an interview as a reporter
to gather data
Group 4, 5, 6. Act as a host in a TV Talkshow to get
information
5. Take note of the important points that you have
learned from immersing to another group. Record in
video everything that happen during immersion and
share it to the teacher using ShareIt App for rating.
6. Go back to your group and share your findings.
7. After sharing with your group, present in class
your learnings from the activity.

 During the activity, the teacher will

roam around to monitor the pacing of each
group and ensure a learning-focused
environment.
 The teacher will give positive
comments, praise and encouragement to the
learners.
E. Discussing new concepts  Activity: Writing
and practicing new skills #2 Directions:
1. Based on the learnings in the
Differentiated Jigsaw Activity, edit your
own Chapter 3 by appropriate describing the
following:
1. research design (either qualitative
or quantitative)
2. instrument used,
3. data collection and
4. analysis procedure
2. Just scribble your annotations and editing
on your printout approved research proposal.
3. Pass your output to the teacher for
critiquing.
