PROJECT BRIEF

Name of Project : 2013 QUEZON CITY TRADE SHOWS

Brief Description : The Quezon City annual trade shows started in 2010 as an
additional program strategy by the QC local government in its effort to enhance the
operating environment conducive to Micro and small enterprises’ development and its
critical contribution to the City’s economy. Since then different groups of Filipino producers
and service providers are maximizing Trade Shows to open-up more opportunities in terms of
market access and increases their potential B2B link-up with other producers and service
providers.

The Quezon City Trade Shows supports three different groups of Filipino Inventors, Micro
and Small Entrepreneurs and Cooperative organizations that complements other services
being provided by the local government in the areas of product development assistance,
client-based trainings and capacity building.

Justification : In the course of implementing SBECO’s original


mandate, the need for new program-strategy that would provide higher access to markets
as an emerging concern not only for Micro and Small Enterprises, but also for community-
based group-enterprises and cooperatives. Based on its original mandate its overall function
is to “ spur economic development and create employment through the promotion and
advocacy of effective entrepreneurship”.
