3. They all will be given a time of 10 minutes to first think of a theme (they must think in
creative ways which is in line with the spirit of Carlsberg/ its 5 million challenge) on what
they want to build, draw it on a paper & share with the facilitator i.e. you.
4. Once, the facilitator agrees, assign 30 minutes to all the teams to arrange the dominos as
per the theme decided. (It is not necessary that all the teams will start building the
dominos at same time, it depends on how soon they are able to finalize the theme & get
OK from facilitator).
5. Alert all the teams 5 mins prior to their 30 mins time slot is about to finish.
6. After 30 mins, ask all the teams to step aside.
7. Ask the leader of each team to push the first domino & ensure all the dominos fall (key
point is all the dominos must be placed at certain distance from each other that when
once the 1st domino is pushed, all must fall).

Debriefing:
Who will have the steadier hand? The greater ideas for creativity and
innovation? Will your team be able to ensure that every element is going to work,
it might be a good idea to do some prototyping before the final event!
In the Domino Effect, intra-team collaboration is imperative to plan, design and
build a creative, unique domino run.
Teams must test and retest their work, a great metaphor for the importance of
process improvement.
 Product quality is of prime importance. If our product is not the hero, then,
nothing in the world can make it run.
 This shows a great alignment is important
 Even if 1 domino does not fall in between, will make the plan fall flat,
hence cohesiveness among the group is important.
 Everyone’s actions are linked to each other. We cannot work in isolation.
The quality of each department, each function, each job is equally
important. Hence, as Carlsberg, in order to have a smooth flow across
functions, it is important we build close collaboration amongst each other.
Production will be OK, Sales will be able to crack more sales with less
product defects etc.
 Collaboration - Teams work together as ONE big team to achieve the over
all mission

 Change Management - Participants must adapt quickly to new situations
to create a master piece
 Teams must reach out to other teams – ask for help, offer help and win
together
