FINAL REQUIREMENT IN ENGLISH 3 (Technical Writing)

PORTFOLIO MAKING
Individual Portfolios for Student Growth (PSG) is a holistic, student-centered,
process-led approach to portfolio development. PSG offers educators a way to guide
students to explicitly link academic learning with future planning and goal setting. Through
the portfolio process, students develop the self-awareness, goal-setting, and decision-
making skills essential for lifelong self-determination.

Your portfolio must contain the following parts and meet the following
requirements:

A. Formatting Elements
1. Paper size 8 ½” x 13” (portrait presentation)
2. Text:
•Font – Calibri, Arial or Tahoma
•12 pt – bolded only to identify categories
•Double space autobiography and/or narrative sections
•Number pages of front-end pieces and learning statements.
•Place your name as a header or footer of each page excluding supporting
documentation.
•Orient learning statements to portrait rather than landscape layout.
•Include no numbers or bullets in learning statements. It must be written in paragraphs.
3. Put in a long clear book.

Note:
*Creativity will be given points through proper lay outing. Excessive designing won’t give you
additional points.

B. Sequential Layout Guidelines

1. Cover Page (optional)


•Cover Page must include School Name, Student Name, Month and year of submission.
Cover Page allows for, but does not require, creativity related to title of portfolio, display
of photos, or graphic layout.

2. Dedication
•Includes a statement on whom the portfolio is dedicated

3. Acknowledgment
•Includes a statement acknowledging the people behind the success of the portfolio

4. Table of Contents
•This is a very important part to clearly organizing the portfolio. This you will create to
guide you in properly referencing and naming your documentation in the Portfolio.

5. Introduction
•at least three (3) paragraphs
6. Body or Learning Statements Document
•at least 250 words

7. Reflections
•includes learning outcomes and reflections. Write

8. Supporting Documents
•includes pictures with captions and other documents

9. Conclusion
•includes final statements on the conduct of the activity.

10. Recommendations/Comments/Suggestions about the subject and to the teacher

Submission: Same date as the exam (No portfolio, no exam)
