TECHNICAL DELIVERY CONDITION FOR SEAMLESS PIPE SA 106 Gr.B

1. Specification : SA 106 ASME Sec.II, Part A


Edition 2010 Addenda 2011a.

2. Quantity : As per purchase requisition

3. Grade : B
4. Name of the material : Carbon steel Seamless pipe.

5. Dimensions : As per purchase requisition

6. Length : Random Lengths

7. Optional requirement : Nil.

8. Finishing : Black CS

9. Special requirements :

 Shall have a maximum carbon content of 0.23%.


 The Carbon Equivalent (CE) based on the Ladle Analysis shall not exceed 0.42, calculated by the
following formula: Carbon Equivalent = C+ Mn/6 + (Cr+Mo+V)/5 + (Ni+Cu)/15
 Where analysis of residual elements is not specified, the carbon equivalent shall be restricted to 0.40
where:. CE = C + Mn/6
 Sulphur content in the material shall be ≤ 0.01% and Nickel content in the material shall be <1%.
 All materials shall be supplied in the normalized condition. Normalizing shall be carried out as a
separate heat treatment or shall be supplied in hot rolled condition
 All materials shall be in accordance with the materials property and heat treatment
requirements of ISO 15156 or NACE MR0175
 Materials shall have hardness at any point (including HAZ & Parent metal) not exceeding
HRC22.
 Unless noted otherwise in the purchase description, pipes shall be in accordance with the following:
ASME B 36.10 and SPE 74/002.
 All Material supplied shall be new, clean and free from mill scale, rust, pit and defects.
 All non-destructive examination shall be performed after heat-treatment.
 Weld or repair of parent pipe material is not permitted.

10. Product marking : As per SA106 para 25

11. Certification : According to SA 106 Para-24; Original or Verified true


copy of Mill test certificate is required in accordance with
EN10204-3.1: E2004.

As a minimum, the MTC’s should contain the following:

 Description, Size and Quantity


 Standard & Grade
 Heat/ Melt/ Manufacturing No.
 Heat Treatment Details
 Chemical Analysis
 Mechanical Tests Result
 Hydrostatic Test Result
 Hardness Test Result
 Results of Supplementary Test(s) as called out in the Purchase Order
 NDE Results
 Nace Compliance Statement
 Dimensional Check Report
