SYMPTOM:
The following symptoms may occur:
1. The Fusing Lamp Harness can emit smoke.
2. An electrical shock is produced - if the machine is not properly grounded.
3. Service Codes 543, 545 or 548 occur.
CAUSE:
There is an issue with the Fusing Unit Wiring Harness.
SOLUTION:
Replace the Fusing Unit. Follow the Fusing Unit Replacement Procedure below:
Fusing unit parts are very hot and may cause burn injury. Please wait after powering off the
machine until it is cool to the touch before advancing.
1. Open the Rear Cover [A].
2. Remove the Fusing Unit [A] while pinching the green levers on the handle and lift up at slight angle.

3. Be sure that there is a white dot on the right side of the replacement Fusing Unit.

2. If the unit was unboxed the way to identify an inspect unit is by inspecting the Fuser Assembly. The
Right side of the unit there will be a “White” dot sticker on the Fuser Assembly.
AFFECTED UNITS:
This list shows the final affected Serial Numbers. All machine serial numbers after these serial numbers are
not affected.

RUS Dealer - Modification Parts will be automatically allocated to each dealership with affected MIF. If there
are any issues with part allocations, please contact your Regional TSM. Report the completion of the update
process for each affected unit via the TSRC site. To ensure proper tracking and to receive the available labor
compensation, please provide the Model, Serial Number, Machine Status (i.e. Customer machine, Training
machine, Demo machine, Inventory, etc.) and “Date of the Service Call completion.

The replaced fusing assembly must be disposed of properly and the disposal be acknowledged on
the TSRC webpage for this issue.
