DAILY LESSON PLAN IN TLE 7


CARPENTRY

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates an understanding of the concepts and
underlying principles in performing measurements and calculations.
B. Performance Standard: The learner independent learners performs accurate
measurements and calculation based on a given task.
C. Learning Competencies : LO 2. Carry out measurements and calculations
(TLE_IACP7/8MC-0d-e-2)
2.1. Measure given materials;and
2.2. Convert measurements to its equivalent unit/system

II. CONTENT: PERFORM MENSURATION AND CALCULATION (MC)

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing of Previous Lesson
The teacher will show some pictures of carpentry tools and they will identify it.
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
Read the lesson objectives.
C. Presenting Examples/ instances of the new lesson
Let them get their ruler and describe what they see in their ruler.
D. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Skill #1
 Show a diagram of linear measurements. Explain about it.
 Discuss Reading of Measurements.
E. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing New Skill #2
Discuss about conversion of measurements.
ACTIVITY: By pairs, the teacher will flash some questions and they will convert
measurements to its equivalent system.
F. Developing Mastery (FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT)
INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY: The teacher will give some measurements that they need to
follow. They will draw a cabinet using the measurements given.
G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living
Teacher will ask “What do carpenters use in making cabinets”?
H. Making Generalizations & Abstractions about the lesson
What is the significance of using proper tools in measuring lumber for example?

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard: The learner demonstrates an understanding of the concepts
in interpreting technical drawing signs and symbols in carpentry.
B. Performance Standard: The learner independently reads and interprets simple technical
drawing signs and symbols based on standard specifications.
C. Learning Competencies : LO 1. Analyze signs, symbols and data (TLE_IACP7/8ID-0f-
12.)
1. Determine appropriate signs and symbols needed in the plan.
2. Explain the importance of signs, symbols and data in interpreting a work plan.

Teacher will draw different lines. They will try to guess what lines are these by matching it
in their correct description.

Show a picture of a project plan. Let them count how many alphabet lines they can see
and let them identify it.

Discuss about the different alphabet of lines.

INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITY: In a short bondpaper.Let them draw a table using the
measurement (3”X5”X8”). Given the different alphabet of lines.
H. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living
They will make a project plan of chair. They should include the measurements, and use a
carton in constructing a chair.
I. Making Generalizations & Abstractions about the lesson
The teacher will show a reflection box, given strips of paper they will write down their
reflection about the topic.

A TEXT A DAY: Drawing is the honesty of the art.

Teacher will draw different lines. They will try to guess what lines are these by matching it
in their correct description.
