Effective communication

Effective communication skills are fundamental to success in many aspects of life. Many
jobs require strong communication skills. People with good communication skills also usually enjoy
better interpersonal relationships with friends and family.
Effective communication is therefore a key interpersonal skill and learning how to improve how you
communicate with your peers has many benefits like having lots of friends having a good working
relationship with you're co workers and others

So how do we communicate effectively? When we speak in front of a crowd we must first aim to grab
their attention no one will listen to you when you’re speech is plain and boring you need to put
something interesting into it so that other people will be eager to listen to what you have to say like
what Miriam Defensor Santiago did when she was invited to talk in the 2016 AIESEC international youth
leadership conference because of her hilarious jokes and witty pick up lines Santiago succeeded in
communicating effectively with all the youths present in the event humor really is needed especially
when your audience are teenagers because teenagers tend to get bored easily but you can also talk
confidently and motivationally like what Barak Obama did in his farewell address in his speech he
reflects on the success and failures of his presidency with confidence he spoke clearly and sincerely to
the audience you can also use you’re life experiences as an example and inspiration to the audience like
what apple CEO Steve Jobs did in his speech at Stanford he told his audience about how he dropped out
of college but because of that he learned typography that he incorporated in the macintosh computer
later on his company apple became successful but he got fired and started a company named NeXT and
another company named Pixar in a remarkable turn of events apple bought NeXT so he went back to
working at apple the technology they developed at NeXT was what caused apple’s current success with
his life story he inspired a lot of youths and by sharing his life experiences he communicated effectively
with his audience

Communication is essential in our daily lives we can learn how to communicate effectively by using the
techniques the three speakers above have used most of the time communication is understood to be
day-to-day talks and discussions we all engage with. Though the broader meaning of communication
covers all human interactions whether it be sign language or communicating via email communication is
not mere talking in a nonsensical manner. Communication is not as simple as it appears. It is a process
with an objective to achieve. It can be defined as a process of translating any thought process into
simple and meaningful utterances through an appropriate channel.
