LESSON PLAN FOR ENGLISH (GRADE 9)

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

 identify what is adjective

 write an essay using adjectives.

 appreciate the use of adjectives in a sentence

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Adjective

References: textbook

Materials: visual aids, marker, pencil and paper

III. Procedure

A. Preliminaries

Questions:

1. What was our last topic yesterday?

2. What have you learned in our previous lesson?

- Motivation
Introduce the adjective song,

“Adjective modify nouns,

Modify means to change,

The adjectives that you choose

will help you better to explain.”

Shaggy dog mangy dog brown dog

Huge, spotted dog tiny white dog.

B. Activity

Divide the class into three groups and each group will be provided a bond

paper with jumbled words and the students will distinguish the adjectives.

Adjectives are words that describe or modify words, making your writing and

speaking much more specific and a whole lot more interesting because

adjectives are used to identify or quantify individual people and unique things.

They are usually positioned before the noun or pronoun.

E. Application

The teacher allows the students to read an article about the importance of

media literacy and how it works to human life and distinguish the adjectives

used.

IV. Assessment

Students are tasked to write an essay about the video presented with the use of

proper adjectives.
V. Assignment

Instruction: Write a reflection about the importance of literacy to human life

using adjectives with a minimum of 300 words and maximum 500.

C. Motivation

Introduce the poem having the use of nouns.

Jump or Jiggle

Frogs jump Caterpillars hump

Worms wiggle Bugs jiggle

Rabbits hop Horses clop


Snakes slides Sea gulls glide

Mice creep Deer leap

Puppies bounce Kittens pounces

Lions stalk but I wake.

D. Activities

Divide the class into four groups and each group will be provided a piece of

paper having a written poem. Each member of the group will help each other to

encircle all the nouns in a poem.

E. Abstraction

Noun is a word that is the name of something (such as a person, animal, place,

thing, quality, idea, or action) and is typically used in a sentence as a subject or

object of a verb or as object of a preposition.

F. Application

The teacher will let the students to read a short article about media literacy and

how it works to human life and distinguish the noun used.

IV. Assessment

Students are tasked to write an essay about media literacy with the use of

common nouns.

V. Assignment

The teacher assigns the students to write their own poem related in media

literacy with the use of nouns.
