Dear Dr. William Happer, Formatted: Border: Right: (No border)

As you may know, there is controversy over the topic of climate change and its
effects. Being someone who is very vocal about your skepticism towards climate
change, you have proposed a plan to peer-review all data collected supporting
climate change as a threat to our planet. I am inclined, as a World Wildlife Fund
(WWF) climate and energy communications manager, to try and sway your
views on the dangerous pollutants that we as humans are creating and the
unnecessary time and energy that would be spent on trying to reanalyze
scientific data, supportive of climate change threats, that has already been
analyzed by qualified science agencies.

I am writing this letter to express my concerns about the approaching threat of
climate change. You and I, alike, will experience the effects of climate change
sooner or later if nothing is done to slow down the process. Unlike the U.S.,
there are locations around the world that are already suffering, one of which, is
suffering at a rate much higher than the rest. The Arctic is warming faster than
the rest of the world, leading to the rapid melting of sea-ice and snow, which
then leads to a rise in sea levels. By campaigning to debunk potential climate
change, its threats, and causes, you are downplaying a potentially catastrophic
issue.

My request of you is to put aside your biases and understand the possibilities of Formatted: Border: Right: (No border)
climate change progression. A few ways for you to act on this would be

I. First and Foremost, try to avoid underestimating the impact that carbon
emissions have on climate.
II. Use your platform and knowledge as a leading contribution to climate
reinforcement.
III. Revert the energy being used towards the plan to form a peer-review
committee that further analyzes data that has already been analyzed, to
developing a plan that helps further research into finding possible
solutions for climate change.
IV. Work with scientists who specialize in climate change and use your
energy research along with access to The National Security Council to
develop new environmental strategies.

It is important for researchers, environmental scientists, and government forces Right: (No border)

to stand together on topics as extreme as climate change. As you stated in
November of 2015, “97% of scientists have often been wrong on many things”,
if that is true then there is a 97% chance that your theories are flawed, as well. It
is in everyone’s best interest for government scientists and officials to set aside
irrational views and argumentative behaviors in order to see the bigger picture,
which is global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions and greenhouse
gases.

With your credentials, experience as a former physicist for Princeton University,
scientific accomplishments, etc., you can understand that your lack of distrust in
fellow scientists who study, specifically, environmental risks is demeaning.
Working with other renowned scientists could bring a new light onto the topic of
climate change and will allow society to see that you are working towards a
brighter future for generations to come.

In closing, It is important to prepare for every possibility before challenging the

evidence provided by over 200 scientific organizations arguing the negative
effects of climate change.
