Session Title : Mail Merge

CONTENT STANDARD:

The learner demonstrates an understanding of the use of advanced tools and


techniques found in common productivity and software applications in developing ICT
content for specific professional tracks

PERFORMANCE STANDARD:

At the end of the 2-week period the learner will be able to independently apply
advanced productivity tools to create or develop ICT content for use in specific
professional tracks

These may be in the form of but not limited to:


1. Calculating Spreadsheet of athletic statistics (Sports)
2. Layout of catalogue of creative works (Arts)
3. Materials/Ingredients projections for batches of baked goods (TechVoc)
4. Letterhead/Business card design (Business/Academic)

LEARNING COMPETENCIES:

1. Create an original or derivative ICT content to effectively communicate


or present data or information related to specific professional tracks.

SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES:

At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:

1. Use some advanced capabilities of MS Word commonly used to


increase productivity and efficiency
2. Create letters or documents for distribution to various recipients

PROCEDURE

I. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES (5 minutes)

3. Motivation/Review (Techie Ka na Ba?)

4. Let the students state the lesson objectives

Directions: With the same group created a while ago. Complete the graphic organizer
by supplying your answers in the thought clouds in relation to the
questions found inside the brain.

III. ANALYSIS (25 minutes)

The teacher will let the students watch a video downloaded from youtube.com

1. MS WORD: Exploring the word document software for mail merge.

2. Let learners do their part for the hands-on activity wherein they can now
create/apply the concept of mail merge in the MS Word document to be sent to
many recipients.

Direction:
 Create communication letter and apply mail merge to be distributed
to 5 recipients.

IV. ABSTRACTION (10 minutes)

Let the students give the advantages and disadvantages of applying mail merge in
creating letter in MS Word.

Audience All stakeholders in the different institutions/agencies
Situation As an officer of the SSG, you are going to create and send a solicitation
letter to the stakeholders of your choice
Product A solicitation letter applying the concepts of mail merge
Standards The output will be rated according to the specifications stated in the
rubric

VI. ASSIGNMENT

Create a business card applying the concept of mail merge, present it for next
meeting.
