JPIF -SWM 01 : ONSITE STORMWATER DETENTION (OSD) – Below Ground


a. ONSITE STORMWATER DETENTION - Tank Design
i Setback 2.30 meter / 7ft 6in from the boundary line. Building Act
ii Made of reinforced concrete structure (with water proofing insulation)MASMA 19.7.1 (a)
or material approved by manufacturer for OSD purpose.
iii Minimum freeboard 300mm (from top water level at ARI 50 years).
iv Inlet pipe entry above ARI 50 years top water level
v Outlet pipe size bigger than the Inlet pipe at ARI 50 years top water level
vi Ventilation / maintenance manhole minimum size 750mmx750mm at 30
meter interval MASMA 19.7.1 (e)
vii Trash Screen covers both primary & secondary outlet MASMA 19.8.6
viii Slope gradient minimum 2% (1:50) and maximum 10% (1:10) MASMA 19.7.1 (d)
xi Primary pipe outlet at bottom-most point of the tank MASMA 3.5.3.7
xii Invert -level at the primary outlet pipe h igher than receiving drain invert level
xiii Pump to be install if (xii) not comply.
xiv Step ladder for tank more than 1.2 meter depth MASMA 19.7.1 (g)
b. ONSITE STORMWATER DETENTION – Engineering Drawings
COLOUR CODE :
i Location on the Site Plan.
ii Indicate 100% flow from the perimeter drain & RWDP into the OSD. 1. Drainage Flow : Blue

iii Show plan, cross-section and long-section of the OSD. 2. OSD : Yellow
iv Show the receiving drain on the OSD long-section drawing.
3. Boundary Line : Dashed outline Red
v Show engineering calculation from Hydraulic Report on Table A and B

JPIF –SWM 02 : RAINWATER HARVESTING (RWH)
a. RAINWATER HARVESTING - Tank Design
i Rainwater MUST collected from the roof catchment.
ii Channel to the RHW Tank / Cistern by rain water down pipe (RWDP).
iii Filtering System.
iv First Flush System (flow from RWDP)
v Underground First Flush System (flow from Perimeter Drain)
vi Rain Water Harvesting Tank / Cistern (3m3 – Bungalow / Semi Detach or 1m3 – Terrance House)
For commercial, apartments and other type of development – 30% of the SSR volume.
vii Conveyance system to usage point
viii Type of Usage point (Garden Tap / Toilet etc)
ix Overflow pipe (Into OSD tank : Commercial / Apartment. Into receiving drain : Residential House)
x Scouring pipe and mosquito protection netting.
xi Pipe system (anti clog / inside cage)

b. RAINWATER HARVESTING – Engineering Drawings COLOUR CODE :

i Location on the Site / Floor Plan. 1. Drainage Flow : Blue


ii Indicate 100% flow from the RWDP into the RWH Tank. 2. RWH : Yellow

EXTRA CHECKLIST – Combination of RWH & OSD using common TANK
i Separate compartment with 30% - RWH and 70% - OSD.
ii Primary & Secondary Outlet located at the OSD compartment.
iii RWDP must flow into RWH compartment & Perimeter Drain flow in OSD compartment.
iv Inlet Pipe (RWDP) above top height of compartment separator . COLOUR CODE :
vi Secondary Pipe outlet below top height of compartment separator.
1. Drainage Flow : Blue
vii Manhole (2 no) located above the Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe.
2. OSD & RWH : Yellow
viii Include Table A, Table B & Table C in Engineering Drawing.
