THANKSGIVING DAY - National Day Of Thanks For Ending The Civil War

Remembering the presidential proclamation in 1865 as a nation is not adding to Torah, but

giving thanks for a specific blessing. If you see a miracle in your life, or ask Yahuah for some

favor and He gives it to you, are you adding to Torah because you remember to give Him

thanks? Thanksgiving is not about pilgrims, it's a national response of gratitude to Yahuah for

ending the Civil War. Most school teachers have it wrong.

The civil war between 1860 and 1865 between the southern states and the federal

government (northern states) is the original reason for the observance known today as

“Thanksgiving Day”. A Presidential Proclamation was made in October 1865 by Lincoln’s

successor, Andrew Johnson. His proclamation established the national observance of this secular

day, but academia has promoted the idea that the Pilgrims were somehow responsible for it. The

pilgrims who came to this continent were "thankful", but they did not establish this nation, only a

settlement. They observed the festivals of Yahuah, not national holidays for a nation that had not

yet been established.

The blending-together of two unrelated things is called “syncretism”.

History is being taught incorrectly, because merging one thing with another is a way of “re-

writing” historical events. Merging things together is sometimes done with closely related

observances. A prime example is the fertility festival of the Earth Mother, Ishtar, with the

resurrection of Yahusha (First-fruits). The name "Easter" is derived from Ishtar, and the eggs and

rabbits are all about fertility, not Yahusha presenting Himself before the Throne of Yahuah as

the First-fruits from the dead.

 The Pilgrims were a pious people who were looking for a new life away from religious

persecution. They had a great deal in common with the "Quakers" (Society of Friends) that

developed later in the 17th century. Both sects promoted a separation from the pagan influences

that still remained in Protestantism.

Being comprised of many persecuted refuges, the early colonies outlawed formerly pagan

observances like Christmas. Like them, there are people today trying to live according to

Yahuah’s Word. Secularism revises history all the time. School students have been led to believe

that Pilgrims were somehow involved in developing today’s “Thanksgiving Day”. There are

Pilgrim heritage groups that enthusiastically promote the idea that our modern T-Day is a

Pilgrim invention, and they claim the roots of Thanksgiving Day are derived from their

experiences at Plymouth in 1621.

This secular national observance of Thanksgiving Day is not commanded by Yahuah, so it can

be ignored, or participated in if one would care to. Hanukkah (Yahukanon / John 10:22) can

also be ignored, or observed. It is also a national secular observance; “thanks” is offered to

Yahuah for His part in rescuing the nation of Israel from the Greek culture that was attempting

to wipe-out Torah observance. Hanukkah is not a replacement festival invented to take the

place of the Pagan observance of Saturnalia/Christmas, nor is Thanksgiving Day a replacement

for anything else.

Hanukkah is a time for giving thanks to Yahuah for the over-throw of Antiochus Epiphanes, and

the re-dedication of the Temple in Yerushalayim. Similar to the way Hanukkah developed,
Abraham Lincoln suggested a day of national thanksgiving to Yahuah for ending the civil

war.

If we remember the day for the right reason, it is “clean”. Alternately, if we ignore the day, no

one should criticize us for that decision. It's only a man-made national day of thanksgiving, so if

a person chooses not to observe the day, then they don't have to give thanks - nor confess the

sins of our nation - which is all it was instituted for.

We should realize Paul is speaking of fasting, but it can apply to whatever we may be inclined to

judge one another about:

Rom 14:4, 5: "Who are you that judges another’s servant? To his own

master he stands or falls. But he shall be made to stand, for Alahim is able

to make him stand. One indeed judges one day above another, another

judges every day alike. Let each one be completely persuaded in his own

mind."

Below is the proclamation made by the US president for the observance of Thanksgiving

Day, with the reason given.

(The common error of using the term “GOD” is part of it, which may send some people running

from it, screaming in terror as they go. But, once that error is corrected, a thinking person can

easily see it is directed toward the Creator of the Universe, not a demon or false deity).

This is not a translation, so we can trust these words to be exactly as written by the US president.
(October 28, 1865):

A PROCLAMATION by the President of the United States of America:

“Whereas it has pleased Almighty God (Note: more accurately, Yahuah) during the year which

is now coming to an end to relieve our beloved country from the fearful scourge of civil

war and to permit us to secure the blessings of peace, unity, and harmony, with a great

enlargement of civil liberty; and

Whereas our Heavenly Father has also during the year graciously averted from us the

calamities of foreign war, pestilence, and famine, while our granaries are full of the fruits of

an abundant season; and

Whereas righteousness exalteth a nation, while sin is a reproach to any people: Now, therefore,

be it known that I, Andrew Johnson, President of the United States, do hereby recommend to the

people thereof that they do set apart and observe the first Thursday of December next as a day

of national thanksgiving to the Creator of the Universe for these great deliverances

and blessings. (Note: date was changed during the early 20th century) And I do further

recommend that on that occasion the whole people make confession of our national sins

against His infinite goodness, and with one heart and one mind implore the divine guidance

in the ways of national virtue and holiness.

In testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be

affixed. Done at the city of Washington, this 28th day of October, A.D. 1865, and of

the Independence of the United States of America the ninetieth.”

 No Indians, or Pilgrims, are mentioned in the above proclamation. The Pilgrims and native

Americans are simply not involved. Many teachers attempt to insinuate that this secular observance

is some form of “apostasy” in rebellion against Yahuah, as if it is related to Sukkoth.

It is not replacing anything and is not a harvest festival of any kind. To merge it with anything

else is syncretism. Thanksgiving Day is not Sukkoth, no matter who may say so. It also is an

admission of national sins, which we as a nation desperately need to confess every day, if not

once a year.

A brother sent this additional information concerning an earlier proclamation

made by Abraham Lincoln, further illustrating that there has been a conspiracy to

blend former patterns together (syncretism), but it also indicates that there was a

foreign threat of some major degree, since it was mentioned in BOTH the

proclamations. From Lincoln's letters, it seems clear that this threat was due to a

conspiracy launched by the Jesuits at a meeting in Europe (explained in detail in

the book SECRET TERRORISTS). Lincoln expresses that the enemy "is of our

own household". The Catholic/Jesuit conspiracy was eventually successful in

assassinating Lincoln. Lincoln's letters reveal that he knew they were after

him. Our Creator's protection from "unfriendly designs from abroad" is but one

reason Lincoln gives for being thankful.

Here is the full speech given on THANKSGIVING DAY 1864

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Abraham Lincoln:

A PROCLAMATION:

"It has pleased Almighty God to prolong our national life another year, defending

us with His guardian care against unfriendly designs from abroad and

vouchsafing to us in His mercy many and signal victories over the enemy, who is

of our own household. It has also pleased our Heavenly Father to favor as well our

citizens in their homes as our soldiers in their camps and our sailors on the rivers

and seas with unusual health. He has largely augmented our free population by

emancipation and by immigration, while He has opened to use new sources of

wealth and has crowned the labor of our workingmen in every department of

industry with abundant rewards. Moreover, He has been pleased to animate and

inspire our minds and hearts with fortitude, courage, and resolution sufficient for

the great trial of civil war into which we have been brought by our adherence as a

nation to the cause of freedom and humanity, and to afford to us reasonable hopes

of an ultimate and happy deliverance from all our dangers and afflictions:

Now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, do hereby

appoint and set apart the last Thursday in November next as a day which I desire
to be observed by all my fellow-citizens, wherever they may then be, as a day of

thanksgiving and praise to Almighty God, the beneficent Creator and Ruler of the

Universe. And I do further recommend to my fellow-citizens aforesaid that on

that occasion they do reverently humble themselves in the dust and from thence

offer up penitent and fervent prayers and supplications to the Great Disposer of

Events for a return of the inestimable blessings of peace, union, and harmony

throughout the land which it has pleased Him to assign as a dwelling place for

ourselves and for our posterity throughout all generations.

United States to be affixed.

Done at the city of Washington, this 20th day of October, A.D. 1864, and of the

Independence of the United States the eighty-ninth."

Again, no reference to Pilgrims, "Indians", the feast of Sukkoth, or even a hint of a "harvest

festival" is mentioned. Thanks to the Creator (Yahuah) is being recommended by the US

government through its chief executive officer. The public education complex and the media

have successfully shifted the reason for Thankgiving Day from the US government to the

Pilgrims. If anyone in the past had ever offered "thanks" to Yahuah for preserving them, it

doesn't automatically mean that the US holiday of Thanksgiving Day has a direct relationship to

them. Hanukkah is a secular observance that remembers the deliverance from the Greek threat,
and it is not a "replacement" for "Christmas" anymore than "Thankgiving Day" is a

"replacement" for Sukkoth.

What is an abomination to Yahuah?

"He who turns away his ear from hearing the Torah, Even his prayer is an

abomination." Proverbs 28:9

This means that those who pray to Yahuah and do not listen and heed His instructions are doing

something that is an abomination to Him. Does Yahuah appreciate thanks? When Yahushua

healed the ten lepers, and only one came back to Him to thank Him, He said, "Where are the

other nine?" Giving thanks is better than not giving thanks. But, if anyone would rather not join

in with the giving of thanks as a nation, that is perfectly fine. Yahuah did not command us to

avoid giving thanks, but in all that He has done for us, and in the things He has taught us, the

giving of thanks to Him can never be "at the wrong time" as some would have us believe.

"I am a fellow Watchman and read the article on Thanks Giving, it was really informative,

however, Thanks Giving is a Racist Holiday and there can be NO EXCUSES for it, the
Wampanaug Indigenous peoples were murdered after they fed the filthy (Christian) pilgrims and

many families I know teach their children just that. YWHW had nothing to do with the killing of

those people or the enslavement of the blacks, that was Ha Satan ( I know this was not in your

article, I'm just stating a fact). YWHW does not do evil. This country was stolen from another

people and my family has NEVER celebrated that day and NEVER WILL along with

Christmas, Easter or Halloween and the rest of that stuff, the world is going to be destroyed

because of mans blatant arrogant and lawless behavior. Anything outside the TORAH is

LAWLESSNESS and will be punished as such(sorry). America was established by people outside

the TORAH and we must have nothing to do with the fruitless works of darkness, the forefathers
