Description
Reinforced Concrete Detailing and Automatic Bar Bending Schedules.

AutoRebar lets you draw dynamic Rebars as if they were polylines. You can stretch them, bend them, cut
them, change the diameter, the scale; dynamic Rebars react like real steel bars.

Video-tutorial 1

Insert dynamic Marks linked to Rebars; a Mark instantly reacts to any change you make to the linked
Rebar.
AutoRebar generates Bar Bending Schedules with a simple click.

Video-tutorial 9

Specify Rebar spacings and link Marks to AutoCAD® dimensions to specify the extension field.
AutoRebar calculates the amount of reinforcement and keeps the BBS up to date.

General Usage Instructions
Create your drawing using dynamic AutoRebar entities.

Use the BBS command to generate the Bar Bending Schedule.

Use the EXPLODEALL command to explode all AutoRebar objects into standard AutoCAD objects and
deploy your drawing to people who do not have AutoRebar installed.

Command Command Description
Icon
AUTOREBAR Load and activate the plug-in along with every
AutoRebar entity already present in the drawing. This is
useful in order to make AutoCAD load the plug-in only
when you really need it, thus preserving AutoCAD
performances on start-up.
REBAR Insert a new dynamic Rebar. The command behaves
similarly to the standard Polyline command. Just specify
the diameter and follow the options on the command
line.

PREBAR Convert a polyline into a Rebar. Select the polyline and

specify the diameter.

STIRRUP Quick draw command for a stirrup shaped Rebar.

Specify the diameter, the concrete cover, and the two
opposite corners of the rectangular concrete section.

CROSSTIE Quick draw command for a crosstie shaped Rebar.

Specify the diameter of the crosstie, the diameters of the
two bars which are hooked by the crosstie and their
center points.

CHAIR Quick draw command for a chair shaped Rebar. Specify

the diameter, the feet length, the body height, the body
width and the insertion point.

SECBAR Insert a new sectioned bar. Specify the diameter and the
insertion point.
SECBARS Insert a dynamic linear array of sectioned bars. Specify
the diameter, the bar spacing or the number of bars, the
start point and the end point.

MARK Insert a new bar Mark in the drawing. Marks are always
taken into account by AutoRebar while generating the
Bar Bending Schedule. Select the Rebar you want to link
the Mark to, the start point and the end point. In order to
insert variable Marks, select one Rebar first, type V for
the Variable option and select the second Rebar; finally,
specify the start and the end points. Use AREDIT to
modify the values in the Mark and/or link it to an
AutoCAD Dimension.
EMARK Insert a new Mark with the same mark-number of an
existing selected Mark. The newly inserted Mark gets
linked to the same Rebar of the original one. Marks with
the same number are added to the same line in the Bar
Bending Schedule. Select the existing Mark and specify
the start point and the end point.
CALL Calls can be useful to create annotations dynamically
linked to Marks. Calls are never taken into account by
AutoRebar while generating the Bar Bending Schedule.
When a mark is modified (directly or indirectly by
modifying a Rebar) Calls gets updated on the fly.
BBS Generate or update a Bar Bending Schedule taking into
account all the Marks present in the current drawing.
Simply specify the insertion point.

AREDIT Edit any AutoRebar entity. Select the AutoRebar entity

you want to modify and follow the instructions at the
command line or modify the field in the dialogue box.

APPEND Append a straight section to an existing Rebar. Select the

Rebar you want to append the section to, and specify the
new vertex point.
REMOVE Remove a section from an existing Rebar. Select the
section of the Rebar you want to cut.

NEW SCALE Change the scale of AutoRebar entities in multiple

selections. This affects the annotations in the object such
as texts or symbols, not the dimension of the object itself.
Select the AutoRebar entities and enter the new value of
the scale.
EXPLODEALL Explode all the AutoRebar entities present in the drawing
into standard AutoCAD entities. This is useful to deploy
your drawing to people who don't have AutoRebar
installed. Users defined blocks are not affected by the
command. The user is prompted to save a backup copy
of the drawing containing the original dynamic
AutoRebar entities.
AROPTIONS AutoRebar Options dialogue box. Define Units, Digits,
current Scale, Font, display options and more.

Installation/Uninstallation
The installer that ran when you downloaded this plug-in from Autodesk Exchange Apps has already
installed the plug-in. You may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the plug-in. To uninstall
this plug-in, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8/8.1) or Control Panel
> Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP), and uninstall as you would any other application from your
system.
