Hi! My name is Nitya. I wish to stand for the post of Convener.

I’ve been a part of Iris since

the past 2 years. According to my experience here, my agendas are based on something
which I would expect from a society.

My 1st Agenda is,

Create effective and efficient work environment or bonding while working.
For this, I would Improvise the buddy system ie. apply it to every photowalk that happens.
Appoint different buddy to every member, month-wise.

I would also conduct group activities like group assignments. (Like may be, visit a family and
make a photo story out of it collectively, make a photo story together on any abstract topic or may
be on each other)

I would plan outdoor bonding sessions and implement them.

I would hold & organise meetings at least twice a week and discuss about each other’s work or
work experiences, it will also involve review sessions. The meetings can be as short as of 15
minutes or may even go for hours.

I’ll make sure that the entire society virtually follows up and be active on the WhatsApp groups.

My 2nd agenda is to provide adequate exposure to the society while maintaining quality.

For this I plan to hold workshops by professional photographers.

I also plan on going for various film festivals and art festivals or exhibitions or whatever
opportunities that comes our way, ‘together’.

Sharing of informative content in the Whatsapp groups will be made mandatory.

My 3rd Agenda is to increase the production on the social networking sites and make the society
and its work/events evident of its existence

I would divide and regulate the duties of the social networking sites among the members of the
society month-wise and order-wise.

I would promote our annual exhibition at Reverie and improve its quality by inviting critics and
professional photographers as our judges and mentors.

My 4th Agenda is to make optimum use of resources ie. take full advantage of being a part of
Delhi University which involves collaborating on good projects and work with as many societies as
possible in or out of college.

My last agenda is to communicate with college union and arrange for more iris boards and
display our work in and around the college campus.

I would also make sure that Prism happens this year.

As it is said, ‘Art gives us the liberty to create but dedication and discipline is very necessary for
the process of creating. Therefore, I would like to maintain the overall discipline by maintaining
seriousness in the society when and where necessary.

Apart from these agendas, I promise to make Iris a family along with the co-convener and
treasurer and to have fun through out the year and put an amazing show at Reverie and Prism
because what else are we here for? I would also like to involve each and every member of the
society while taking a decision and maintain transparency through out the year, I would want each
and every member to feel that this is their society. My main aim being the Convener will be to
uplift the society in terms of quality and authenticity and make sure that each and every one
leaves with a good memories and have thousands of stories to tell to their peers. And for this Iris
will always be my priority and I would put my heart and soul into making better and put it out
there.
