Good morning everyone. I am Ariel T. Tumalon, and I will be your competency
assessor for Masonry NCII. I would like to acknowledge first the presence of Mr.
Romee A. Tamsi our Tesda Representative from Kabasaln Institute of Technology,
you don’t have to worry about his presence, because he is here to oversee if the
proper Conduct of Competency Assessment is in accordance with the competency
standard methodologies and procedures. He will not going to assess you.
Before we start Let us check first your attendance and Kindly submit your admission
slip, As I call your name and KINDLY sign the attendance sheet on the space
provided.
I have here w/ me your accomplished application form w/Self Assessment Guide, this
is an indication that you can perform all units of competency enumerated in Food
Processing NC2.
Conduct Orientation
I would like to welcome all of you to our assessment center of MASONRY NCII, this
assessment is to determine the level of your competency.
The purpose of our assessment for Food Processing NC II is to determine the level of
your competency.
And today, I will administer to you the competency assessment for Food Processing
NC II. This qualification is composed of Basic, Common and Core Competencies

TASK TO BE PERFORMED AND EVIDENT TO BE COLLECTED
I will collect evidence through Demonstration, oral questioning and written test. This
assessment method can help us to measure your underpinning knowledge and skills
in this qualification. Do you have any questions or clarification? Since, there is no
questions, Before we start please do your necessities now.
PERSONAL NEEDS
For your personal needs the lavatory is located at the end of the hallway. If you want
to take your meal, our canteen is located at the lobby. However, during the
assessment you are not allowed to leave the premises of the assessment center. Is
that clear?
ALLOWABLE OR REASONABLE ADJUSTMENT WHEN APPLICABLE
If you have difficulty in understanding the given instruction please don’t hesitate to
call my attention because I am willing to explain and translate it for you. And during
the written examination and if you have dilemma in writing your answer don’t be shy
because we cannot set your answers perfect.
DO’S AND DONTS DURING ASSESSMENT
If you have concerns, questions and there’s a need for you to clarify the matter
concerning the assessment you may asked for I am willing to assist you. But once the
assessment started please refrain from asking questions co it is no longer allowed. In
the same token if you have physical and any form of difficulties don’t hesitate to call
my attention so that we can address it immediately.
Rights and Appeal system
In case you have any question regarding the assessment result you have the right to
appeal, you can submit your appeal to the TESDA Provinacial Office where the
assessment center and the assessor are accredited.
ISSUANCE OF NC/COC
If you have passed the assessment and you are competent, For the issuance of
National Certificate the AC Manager will inform you where you can claim it at the
Provincial Office within 3 working days after the assessment.
REASSESSMENT PROCEDURE
If found not competent- don’t worry about it you can be reassessed anytime at your
own convenience.
In case the reassessment is full qualification you have to undergo the whole
assessment process.
If found to be competent in some unit of competencies the reassessment will just
focused on the unit of competencies that you are found to be NOT YET COMPETENT
IF you fail 2 consecutive assessment, you are advised to take a refresher course before
applying for reassessment.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
During the actual demonstration please observe safety while as you perform the
different task. Make sure to check the electrical equipment before plugging it. Avoid
pulling down the chord as you unplug the equipment. And pleases observe proper
body mechanic when lifting heavy equipment to avoid back injury. And if in case
accident will happen, please call my attention right away so that we can provide first
aid. And should need arise first aid kit, is located near the entrance.
CONFIDENTIALITY OF ASSESSMENT OUTCOMES
With the result of your assessment, we observe strict confidentiality this is to ensure
your integrity , this result is only made available to the right personnel and to the
institution were had your actual training.
In relation to this, the assessment package is placed in the secured place, to guarantee
the integrity of the assessment package.
And Please refrain to give away any form of information that took place in the
assessment process.

CANDIDATE”

How was the assessment? How do you judge your performance during the assessment?
In a given scale 1-10 how many points will you give to yourself base on your
performance?
My observation is coincide with your opinion , you are indeed competent you are able
to perform the different task in masonry NC II .But there are some areas that needs
an improvement such as proper handling of measuring tools. But since you answer the
questions correctly. As your competency assessor I will certify you competent.

will inform you where you can claim your NC/COC at the Tesda Provincial Office within
3 working days after the assessment.
 NEGATIVE FEEDBACK: Candidate number 2 please be seated. What are the tools,
equipment and ingredients needed in making pineapple marmalade? What is the
use of sugar? Very good! How was the assessment? Really ? Are you comfortable
with me during the assessment or are you scared with me? Do you think there are
some areas you felt difficult? So, in that matter what have you learn from the
session?
Ms.____ you can identify the tools, equipment and the ingredients needed in making
pineapple marmalade. You are very good at it. However, you were not able to follow
the correct standard procedures in measuring and mixing the ingredients. And also
you were not able to provide a good quality product as you can see your product got
burned. My advised is, you need to have more practice for you to follow the correct
procedures in performing the task.
Based on my observation and the outcome result of your assessment is that you are
not yet competent. However, can be re asses anytime at your own convenience. And
if you have questions, regarding to the result of the assessmet you have the right to
appeal . you can submit your appeal at TESDA Provincial Office were the assessment
