Notice for Admission into Under Graduate Medical - MBBS programme, conducted
at Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, a constituent medical college of Swami
Rama Himalayan University, for academic session 2018-2019.

1. It is hereby informed that for the academic session 2018-2019, admissions to Under
Graduate Medical - MBBS programme conducted at Himalayan Institute of Medical
Sciences, a constituent medical college of the University, shall only be made based on the
merit of NEET (UG) - 2018 through common counseling conducted by the State
Government or its designated authority and none else.

2. Accordingly, on behalf of State of Uttarakhand, the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna


Uttarakhand Medical Education University, Dehradun shall be conducting common
counseling for admission into Under Graduate Medical - MBBS programme for academic
session 2018-2019 based on the merit of NEET (UG) - 2018.

3. All NEET (UG) - 2018 qualified candidates are invited for registration for the process of
common counselling & admission into Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences. For
registration process and other related details for common counseling, kindly visit the
website www.hnbumu.ac.in

4. The admission to Under Graduate Medical - MBBS programme conducted at Himalayan


Institute of Medical Sciences, a constituent medical college of the University, shall only be
made as per the provisions of Section 33 of the Swami Rama Himalayan University Act.

5. Distribution of seats:

5.1 As per the provisions of sub section (1) of section 33 of the Swami Rama Himalayan
University Act, 40% seats are reserved for ‘Permanent Residents of Uttarakhand’.

5.2 In accordance with sub section (2) of section 33 of the said Act, 26% rebate in
tuition fee shall be given on the 40% seats reserved for ‘Permanent Residents of
Uttarakhand’.

5.3 Reservation Policy of the Govt. of Uttarakhand shall be applicable on 40% seats
reserved for ‘Permanent Residents of Uttarakhand’ category. If the reserved seats
remain vacant, then such vacant seats shall be filled up by the ‘General’ candidates
under the ‘Permanent Resident of Uttarakhand’ category.

5.4 If the seats under the ‘Permanent Resident of Uttarakhand’ category remain vacant,
then the said vacant seats will be filled up by other candidates.

6. Fee:

6.1 In pursuance to the order passed by the Hon’ble High Court of Uttarakhand in Writ
Petition No. 1705 of 2017 (Swami Rama Himalayan University Vs State of
Uttarakhand & others), the Tuition Fee for MBBS Programme shall be as follows:

Category Tuition Fee

For Permanent Residents of Rs 11,00,000/- (Rupees eleven lakhs only)


Uttarakhand Candidates (40% Seats)

For other Candidates (60% Seats) Rs. 15,00,000/- (Rupees fifteen lakhs only)

6.2 Tuition fees can be deposited in six monthly Installments.

6.3 In addition to the tuition fee, a candidate shall be charged the following fees:

(i) One time non refundable Admission fees of Rs. 1,00,000/- for all categories.
(ii) One time Refundable Security fees of Rs. 2,00,000/- for all categories.
(iii) Hostel Fee for Non-AC rooms shall be Rs. 70,000/- p.a. on twin sharing basis
and for AC rooms Rs. 85,000/- p.a. on twin sharing basis.
(iv) Mess charges as per actuals.
(v) Enrolment fee : Rs. 1,000/-
(vi) Charges for hepatitis-B vaccination: Rs. 1,500/-.
(vii) University Examination fee shall be charged as per University rules.
(viii) Convocation Charges (to be paid in the final year) : Rs. 2,000/-
(ix) Alumni fee (to be paid in the final year) : Rs. 1,000/-

6.4 Note:

(i) The fees for First Prof. shall continue to be charged till the candidate passes
out the First Prof. Exam.

(ii) The candidate must pass First Prof. in 12 (twelve) months; otherwise tuition
fees shall be charged as follows:
(a) If a student fails or is detained in 01 (one) subject in First Prof.
University Main Examination and does not pass supplementary
examination, which is conducted immediately after the main University
Examination, he/she shall pay 1/3 (one-third) amount of the existing
tuition fee as additional tuition fee till the student passes out First Prof.
Exam.
(b) If a student fails or is detained in 02 (two) subjects in First Prof.
University Main Examination and does not pass supplementary
examination, which is conducted immediately after the main University
Examination, he/she shall pay 2/3 (two-third) amount of the existing
tuition fee as additional tuition fee till the student passes out First Prof.
Exam.

(c) If a student fails or is detained in all the subjects in First Prof.
University Main Examination and does not pass supplementary
examination, which is conducted immediately after the main University
Examination, he/she shall pay full existing tuition fee as additional
tuition fee till the student passes out First Prof. Exam.

(iii) After passing the First Prof. Examination, every student must pass Second
Prof., Final Prof. Part - I & Final Prof. Part - II in 42 (forty-two) months and
must pay his tuition fee for the full course (4 ½ years). If he fails to do so,
he/she shall pay ½ (half) amount of the tuition fee determined by the
University for Final Prof. Part - II as an additional tuition fee till he/she passes
Final Prof. Part - II University Examination.

(iv) As per the Judgement passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, in the
matter of Islamic Academy of Education and Another V/s State of Karnataka
& Others (Writ Petition Civil No. 350 of 1993) in its judgement dated
14.08.2003, all candidates who obtain admission in the Himalayan Institute of
Medical Sciences shall be required to submit, at the time of joining, a bank
guarantee to the effect that he/she shall not withdraw his/her candidature after
the last date fixed for admission; failing which he/she shall be required to pay
to the University tuition fee for the entire duration of the programme.

7. Documents to be brought at the time of admission:

While reporting for admission, the candidate shall bring the following
certificates/documents IN ORIGINAL along with 2 sets of self attested copies of the same:

10. Gap year affidavit, if applicable
11. Domicile/Permanent Resident of Uttarakhand Certificate (If Applicable)
12. Six recent colored passport size photographs & two stamp size photographs
13. Affidavit against ragging from the CANDIDATE
14. Affidavit against ragging from the PARENTS
15. Aadhar Card
16. PAN Card
17. Bank Guarantee
18. Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from abroad have to give
Equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (a Govt. of India
Agency)

8. Ragging is strictly prohibited.

9. CAUTION

Public, in general, is informed that Swami Rama Himalayan University or its constituent
medical college, Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, have never
authorized/solicited any person(s) or any agent(s) for admissions in any of the
programme offered by the University and/or its constituent medical college referred
herein above. Therefore, public is cautioned to be aware of unscrupulous
person(s)/agent(s)/advertisements. None of the Authority(ies) shall be responsible if
students/ wards are cheated on this account.
