tuning fork is due to its vibrations.
9. How do the following factors affect, if at all, the velocity of sound in air? (i) pitch of sound (ii)

10. Ripples are generated by a vibrator on the surface of water which covers a distance of 37.8 cm
in 1.8 s. The distance between consecutive crest and trough is 1.5 cm. Calculate the wavelength,

11. A wave of periodic time 0.004 s travels with a speed of 4.8 km/s in iron. What will be its
wavelength in (1) iron and (ii) air ? Take speed of sound in air is 332 m/s.
