BUWAN NG WIKA 2017: WIKANG FILIPINO, WIKANG MAPAGBAGO

The month of August marks the celebration of National Language Month (Buwan ng Wika)
with the theme “Filipino: Wikang Mapagbago."

The celebration is spearheaded by Mr. Bernardo Franco Jr. and the Filipino Department
to promote the use of the Filipino language.

Pagsusuot ng Kasuotang Pilipino, Poster Making, Spoken Word Poetry, Panonood ng

mga Dula, Patinikan sa Panitikan (Pag-awit ng mga Awiting Pilipino (4-6), Pagbigkas ng Tula
(1-3), Likhawit (7-12)), Palarong Pinoy, Kainang Bayan at Kulturang Sayaw.

“Buwan ng Wika" is a time to remind the students and teachers alike of the importance of
the Filipino language. Language is one of the things that could identify a person's nationality. It
is a time to take pride of the beautiful culture of the Filipinos.

As national hero Dr. Jose Rizal once emphasized the importance of national language,
“Ang hindi magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit sa hayop at malansang isda; kaya ating
pagyamaning kusa, gaya ng inang sa atin ay nagpala.”
