Chairman Janice Caldwell called the meeting to order at 6:16pm and mentioned the upcoming County Council meeting
to encourage everyone to go to the KC website to read about the issues/proposal that will be voted on. Meeting starting
at 5:30pm at the Government center in Camden.
Chairman Caldwell introduced Senator Lindsey Graham’s staff member, Mark Bonnoitt. Mark encouraged Kershaw
County to get involved with Senator Graham’s campaign.
Chairman Caldwell introduced the new State Vice Chairman Cindy Risher. Announcement was made regarding the Red
Hats for Trump event in Myrtle Beach on June 14th. Ms. Risher gave the following tips she and Sandy Chiong learned at
their Vision 2020 training:
● Have purpose-Why are you involved?
● Make reasonable commitments
● Get to know everyone involved
● Keep positive attitude
● Go the extra mile
● Recruit others
● Be patient and persistent
First Congressional District will be working to help build up Republican support in Charleston.
Precinct Reorg is up 30%.
All County meetings must follow Roberts Rules so we will be appointing a Parliamentarian.
Silver Elephant Gala information was given for the August 2nd date.
Discussed the need to get membership increased.
Chairman Caldwell mentioned the June 18 “Watch Party” for President Trump’s announcement to run for re-election.
Again, Chairman Caldwell encouraged everyone to attend the County Council meeting. Mentioned that you do not have
to speak but at least be there to be present.
Reminders that there are not meeting in July and we would have an August Social with more details to follow.
November will be a meeting to honor Veterans
Terry Sheppard motioned that we adjourn the meeting. Mrs. Alice Brooks gave a 2nd to adjourn the meeting. Chairman
Janice Caldwell adjourned the meeting at 7:24pm.
