Q.1 Highlight the major theories of development. Also explain their contributions and
limitations for the process of developments. (20)

Q.2 Critically analyse socio-cultural attitudes of the people stand in the way of
economic development of our country. (20)

Q.3 Discus the relevant instrumental variables when the objective of a planning
model is:
a) To achieve a higher rate of growth. (10)
b) To achieve full employment level in the country. (10)

Q.4 Keeping in view the profile of Pakistan as developing country, give some reasons
why it has remained poor, what are the general requirements for its development?
Elaborate in detail. (20)

Q.5 Economic development of Pakistan naturally divides itself into three historical
periods, the 1960s, the early and the mid 1970s and the period since 1978.
Differentiate the process of Economic Development Planning among these three
