BUSINESS OBJECTIVE:
The courier system aims in developing cost effective solutions for courier system management
that will make courier tracking more simple and effective. Admins at each terminal can be easily
tracked and at the same time dedicated logs can be generated to reveal highly granular details of
employees. The system provides higher precision for consignment tracking between the manual
delivery of the consignment and computerized mark-up of the courier.

SYSTEM OBJECTIVE:
 WEB Service:
o Repository for web-pages and hosts the website.
o Forms the Customer relationship management System.
o Interacts with courier server for courier tracking.
o Database designed based upon courier Track No.
o Provides forum space for customer queries and discussion.
o Web-Pages provide Mathematical Tools along with other information.
 Courier Service:
o Repository for storing track codes for each courier.
o Dedicated software installed at each admin terminal which are centrally
authenticated.
o Each terminal communicates with main server for information exchange which
includes New Courier Registration, Old Courier Enquiry and other courier related
queries.
o The courier server stores consigner as well as consignee information such as Id
details as well as their addresses and assigns a unique track no. to each of them.
o The courier information is sorted as per branch vicinity of the consignee.
o The system only accepts those records whose vicinity is in the companies reach.
o The system also records the no. of attempts done in-order to deliver the
consignment and is marked for 3 bounces beyond which an automated message is
sent to the consignee regarding the cause.
 Query Processing System
o This system supports both courier system as well as Web services which accepts
customer services regarding courier tracking and client query processing.
o The system is integrated with telephonic query processing where in track no. is
the main key for handling the same.
o Provide forum service for client interaction.
FEATURES/SCOPE:
 Web Service
o Client Registration : Client details along-with a username and password specific to
each client are handled.
o Query window wherein track no. is inserted as a key to check courier status for
client as well as admin.
o Provide Details of the organization that includes organization profile and market
status.
o Online mathematical tools for customers/consigners to refer.
 Courier Services
o Windows specific installable app which interacts with Courier Server at the main
hub.
o Track No. is generated at every new registration for courier from the main server.
o The app accepts Admin login details.
o The app handles consigner, consignee as well as courier information.
o At each delivery or bounces the admin updates the Courier data through the app.
o The system is calibrated for courier services which includes
1. General Courier Service (Local)
2. Prime Service (Priority Delivery)
3. Special Courier Service (Gift/ Luxury Articles)
4. Per unit weight Courier Charges.
5. Courier Track No. Generation and Tracking.
 Query Processing System
o Interaction point for tele-services and online query processing.
o Admins interact and respond to customer queries (Automated as well as Manual)
o Interacts with Courier Database for getting courier status updates.
DIAGRAM:

The courier management system for Trackon Courier Agency is a web based operating
environment. Customer Relationship management is a web based application and the courier
delivery and maintenance system is a distributed application running in the form of constellation
network. The main hub of the constellation is based in Delhi and so is the case with the server.
The process is composed of manual delivery of consignments and automated information
processing and courier tracking through web-interface and dedicated applications.
INFORMATION HANDLING:
 Web Services
o Client registers with the site for forum with identity information.
o Username and Password are generated for forum.
o Track window is provides for 8 digit track no. for courier status.
o Admin is provided with login details for client query handling.
 Courier Services
o Details stored includes Source and Destination Address.
o A manifest code is generated indicating the sub-branch code.
o The receipt shows detail of both consigner as well as consignee.
