a. Introductory
Activity 1.Motivation
(Teacher will present a picture of centipede)

b. Activity
1. Introduction of the writer ( Rony V. Diaz)
2. Unlocking of Difficulties

Teacher will group students into three. Each group will be given
pictures of events and students will arrange the sequence of events
according to their assumption.
c. Analysis Teacher will ask questions;
 Who are the characters in the story?
 Do the siblings have harmonious relationship why?
 What conflict exists between them?
 Do you think Eddie’s actions at the end of the story are justified?
why or why not?
d. Abstraction
 What is the theme or lesson of the story?
 If you were in the same situation would you do the same? Why or
Why not?
 If you were the father, what would you do to guide your children
and help them maintain a harmonious relationship?
e. Application Teacher will ask student about an event happened to their lives that
is related to theme of the story.
 What is the conflict?
 What is the effect of that conflict to you and the other party?
 How were you able to solve it?
f. Assessment In a ½ sheet of paper students will answer the following questions;
1. Who are the characters in the story “ The Centipede” ?
2. What is the theme of the story?
3. What is the conflict presented in the story?
4. If you were Eddie in the story, how can you resolve your conflict
with your sister in nonviolent ways?
g. Assignment See Task 17 p. 174 in LM
