TRAFFIC REPORT ANALYSIS

A separate setup called OMC (Operation & Maintenance Centre) is maintained at
each service provider. The OMC regularly monitors the alarms, raised in various network
elements with the help of OSS. This helps in maintaining QoS parameters related to network
availability (BTS downtime). OMC also fetches and analyze a number of reports from OSS
like Network Quality Report, Dimensioning report etc. to establish an idea where the QoS
parameters are not meeting the benchmarks and accordingly corrective measures are taken.

To comply with regulatory body’s recommendations, every service providers must

keep the QoS parameters or KPIs up to the prescribed benchmarks.

The BSS OSS reports provide various performance related information of following
BSS elements:

 BSC

 Cell

 TRE

Type of Reports
1. “Time consistent Busy hour” or “TCBH” means the one hour period starting at
the same time each day for which the average traffic of the resource group concerned
is greatest over the days under consideration and such Time Consistent Busy Hour
shall be established on the basis of analysis of traffic data for a period of ninety days;
2. Cell Bouncing Busy Hour (CBBH) means the one hour period in a day during which a
cell in cellular mobile telephone network experiences the maximum traffic.
