1.0 Purpose: This procedure shall govern the conduct of Practice Teaching or Internship
among graduating students of Teacher Education programs in any campus or college of
the University.

2.0 Scope: This will apply to all faculty members assigned as Practice Teaching (PT)
Supervisors to any graduating Teacher Education (e.g. BSED, BEED, BPEd or BTVTEd)
assigned in a specified Cooperating School.

4.0 Definition of Terms:

Practice Teaching refers to last subject of any Teacher Education student that is part of
the Experiential Learning Courses that are indispensable component of the Teacher
Education Curriculum per CMO No. 30, s. 2004.

Cooperating School refers to the DepEd schools where PSTs and interns are deployed
to undergo their one-semester Field Study or Practice Teaching.

Cooperating Teacher refers to the teacher-mentor in DepEd schools where a PST or

intern is assigned to collaboratively work with as regard to preparing lesson plans, actual
teaching, assessment and classroom management in general.

FS/PT Supervisor refers to the faculty who is assigned to supervise the pre-service
teachers (PSTs) or Interns during the entire duration of the course and is expected to
work closely with the Cooperating School and Teachers.

Pres-service Teachers (PST) refers to the Teacher Education students who are taking
Field Study courses. Practice Teachers or interns, however, are those graduating
Teacher Education students taking up Practice Teaching course.

DepEd Order No. 3, s. 2007 refers to the guidelines in the deployment of Pre-Service
Teachers on Experiential Learning: Field Study and Practice Teaching including the
pertinent enclosures.

5.0 Procedure

5.1. Practice Teaching (PT) Supervision
