The Revenant (2016)

What an exceptionally enjoyable film DiCaprio and his director have cooked up. The Revenant is the
embellished true story of a fur-trapper and frontiersman, Hugh Glass who endured a savage bear
mauling and still managed to survive to claim his vengeance. While watching this flick, I observed the
broadness and diversity of human factions in this film. The environment in this movie has been a major
factor that shaped the behavior of these human groups. The differences in experiences and
environmental conditions entrenched the cultural variation amongst the tribesmen and the
frontiersmen that started the hostility between them. The movie portrayed the discrepancy in
socioeconomic aspects of the major divisions in the film. Glass dodged every possible confrontation with
the indigenous ethnic groups that share specific environment with him because he could discern the
possibility that he will not survive if gets captured by these tribesmen because they have the advantage
of the environment, traditions and histories of that woodland which is subscribed in their mainstream
culture. The film immersed us in the actuality of human variation that happen long time ago which I can
divulge to our current topic in understanding culture, society and politics.
