After much trial and error, here's the simplest and only reliable way I've found to copy entire playlists from
one Spoti account to another without having to "follow" the owner of the original playlist.

NOTE:  This method only works using the Spoti desktop client installed to your local machine. So
wherever “Spoti ” is referenced below, you must perform that step using this client (as opposed to the
Spoti web site or mobile app).

First, set up your directories:

1. Launch the Spoti client.

2. Log into the NEW Spoti account that you want to transfer your songs to.
3. In Spoti :
1. Create a new playlist named something like *INCOMING XFERS* and leave it empty for now.
(You will use this playlist as a temporary storage area during the transfer process.)
2. Create a new (empty) playlist for each playlist you will be transferring over.
4. On your local machine:
1. Create a new folder on your desktop to use for export / import.
2. Under that folder, create individual subfolders for each playlist.
5. Log out of the NEW Spoti account.

Next, grab the links to the playlists you wish to copy from the OLD Spoti account:

1. Log onto the OLD Spoti account.

2. From the left panel of the Spoti window, click to select a playlist, and then drag+drop it onto
the corresponding subfolder you created for it on your local machine in step 4.2 above. (This will
create a URL shortcut to that playlist located on the OLD account.)
3. Repeat for all playlists you wish to transfer.
4. Log out of the OLD account.

Next, copy your playlists over to the NEW Spoti account:

1. Log onto the NEW Spoti account.

2. Drag one of the playlist URLs from your local folder into the empty *INCOMING XFERS* playlist.
(Note that under the playlist name, it says “Created by:” the username of the OLD account. This is
important, because it indicates that your new playlist is still linked to the other account.  As a result,
those songs will disappear as soon as you leave the *INCOMING XFERS* playlist unless you click
the “Follow” button – but if you do that, the owner of the OLD account will still continue to own the
playlist. The steps below will show you how to move the songs to a new playlist that is
independently owned by the user of the NEW account.)
3. With the *INCOMING XFERS* playlist displayed, click any song from the list, then Ctrl+A to select
them all.
4. Drag all of the songs over to the corresponding (empty) playlist you created for it in Step 3.1 under
the "Set up your directories" section. (Note that the playlist name says “Created by:” the username
of the NEW account. This means that the user of the NEW account permanently owns that playlist.)
5. Return to the *INCOMING XFERS* playlist (which is now empty again).
6. Repeat the steps in this section for all remaining playlists you wish to transfer.

Or you can just use playlist-converter.net. Log into the account with the playlist then import it. After it is
imported open Spoti .com and log out. Then export to the new account.

Everyone's tags (3): accounts / playlist / playlist-converter

Windows 7/10 ?
Open spoti with old account.
On C:\ drive create a temp folder
Drag and drop the playlist from spoti into this new folder, the le will have a weird name,
something like 6fdpLFWvzCqiZKU5XxfddK
Log out of the old spoti , and login with the new account details
Create an empty playlist
Go into the play list
Drag and drop this le from the temp folder into spoti
Done

Hi Jennie,

Welcome to the Community!

What I would suggest is to subscribe to the playlists on your other account. For this, you'd need to nd
your Spoti pro le inside Spoti . Don't worry, this is nice and easy. Just type in 'spoti :user:username'
in the Spoti search box. So, for example, to nd your 'hjalmarsons' account, you would type in...
spoti :user:hjalmarsons

Once you get to the pro le, you'll be able to subscribe to all of those playlists.

At the moment, there is not much in the way of a playlist export function in Spoti .  It is a feature that has
been suggested, but not yet implemented.  There is one way to do it that I can think of, but it may require
that the other account stay active.  Although if the old account stays open as a free account, it should not
be too much of a problem.

To do it, rst, log into your old account.  If you have several playlists, you will probably also want to open
some sort of text editor as well (Notepad on Windows, or Text Edit on Mac should work just ne).  The
next part is a little tedious, but better than completely recreating all your playlists.  Right click on the rst
playlist you want to copy, and then select "Copy Spoti URI."  Paste the copied URI into your text editor.
Repeat these steps for each playlist you would like to copy to your new account.

Once you have completed copying the Spoti URIs for each playlist, log out of your old account, and log
into your new account.  Go back into the text editor you have open, and copy the rst URI.  Switch back
over to Spoti , and paste it into the search box on the upper right corner, and hit enter.  The playlist
should display in the center pane.  To the right of the album cover graphic, you should see a "Subscribe"
button.  Click the subscribe button, and it should appear in the playlist section on the left side of the
screen.

One thing to keep in mind: On your old account, if your playlists are not published, this will likely not
work.  If you don't remember deselecting the publish option for the playlist, you should not need to worry
about it because they are published by default.  If you have, simply right click on the playlist in your old
account, and ensure "Publish" has a check next to it.

Hopefully this will work for you!

Doh!  Sam beat me to it.  His solution sounds easier too, but I'll leave my post up anyway.  ;)

Just. Yours will work wonders too.

It is also worth pointing out (in my method, as well as jvanderb's) that playlists will need to be 'published'
in order for them to show in your pro le.

Yes...by mere seconds!

I noted the need to have the playlists published.  One thing I am not too sure about though - if the old
account were to be closed, would those subscribed playlists go away?

Thanks Sam!

No, the playlists wouldn't disappear. But it would be quite tricky nding them.

I've just edited my reply regarding the publishing thing.

Many thanks Sam and jvanderb

It worked out just great!
Now I can also copy by drag and drop from the subscribed playlists to new versions of my favourite
playlists on my new account.
Have a great music day.

First, sorry for bringing back an old thread!

What will happen to the playlists when I delete the other "orginal" account, which I have
subscribed to? Will the playlists disappear from both accounts, or will the playlists change
ownership to my new account?
