For the Giffords requests below, more specifically she was looking for:

1. CBP to meet with experts on migratory animals as soon as possible. This should be a meeting
with CBP and experts in migratory patterns of animals ranging from insects to large cats.

2. After the migratory animals meeting, CBP to have a public meeting to discuss how CBP came to
the decisions it did on where fence should go and what type of fence to use. This meeting
should discuss the operational needs for fencing and the science behind fence design.

Sen. McCain), (b) (6) (staff for Sen. Kyl), Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and Rep. Ciro Rodriguez
regarding fencing issues on the southwest border.

The following are get-backs from each meeting.

McCain-Kyl:
-Want a legal analysis from CBP on gov’t rights of entry for southern border lands (include info on
Roosevelt Easement).
-What rights and authorities does gov’t have to enter land on southern border?
-What types of environmental assessments is CBP doing?
-Copies of before and after pics showing environmental improvements after fencing.
-Detailed map from CBP on where Grijalva is proposing the wildlife refuge (and if fencing will go there).
-Map showing public vs. private land ownership on AZ border.
-Is CBP studying migratory patterns of animals?

Giffords:
-Wants specific Tucson Sector talking points for fence.
-Wants names of landowners in her district.
-Wants pics of current fencing in AZ.
-How many “yes” responses from Tucson Sector for ROE?
-How many total landowners in Tucson Sector and in AZ?
-Wants a map of where BP proposes vehicle barriers in Tucson Sector.
-Wants a meeting between CBP and experts on migratory animals.
-Wants a public forum to discuss how fence designs were chosen.
-Wants an update on the Douglas Ditch Issue.

-What’s the latest on P-28?
-Will P-28 problems affect Texas Mobile?
-Map showing public vs. private landownership in his district.
-Number of total miles of fence to be in his district.
-Wants CBP to think about how to secure areas on river while still making accessible to boaters, etc.
-CBP needs to work with FEMA on flood maps.
-Said that if landowners are agreeing to have fence on land, CBP should start building.
