produced water treatment and re-injection, which includes detailed engineering based on the
front-end design, in line with space availability, process requirements and structural integrity.

piping components

1) Supervised the technical execution, coordination, and integrity of $1.4 billion tank farm project
for Saudi Aramco which includes compliance with contractual requirements, as well as
acceptable engineering/ design practices, change management, and quality control.
2) Performed piping stress analysis of the onshore Brownfield Projects which includes Flange
leakage calculations, equipment nozzle loading check calculations, Pipe local stress evaluation,
Pipe wall thickness calculation,

with smooth interaction with Client for project technical issues resolution. As part of change
management/pre-bid technical management, identified & formalized the differences between

Engineering Manager, Nama Mott MacDonald 2005 – 2010

1) Process Simulation of the basic process: “nitrogen & fuel gas mix case” and “nitrogen case”,
for GASCO: NITROGEN GENERATION AND INJECTION PROJECT, which included
FEED and EPC scope for two 36 inches lines to supply nitrogen for gas injection inside
“Thamama F” oil reservoir, in-place of residue gases, and as suction to centrifugal compressors
in place of fuel gas.
2) Routing the pipes on the existing structure, with verification of fatigue strength of existing
structure by applying suitable factors. Evaluated the structural adequacy of the existing rack
with structural analysis and suggesting reinforcement where required.
3) Developed the Retrofit scope of work for the existing compressors running on “fuel gas”, to be
made suitable for running on higher molecular weight nitrogen, by adequacy checking of rotor,
bearings, seals and casing.
4) Studied ITB, project and design basis such as scope of work, overall project schedule, basic
design data, client specification and regulation.
5) Supervised the detailed engineering of top side gas injection facilities for six(6) WHPTs,
including PW-32, PW-62, PW-68, PW-109 and PW-54A, for reservoir pressure maintenance
using WAG concept, including hook-up to gas injection and WAG wells.
6) Monitored the design of cold vent and drain drum to handle the venting of gas during
emergency depressurization and discharge from PSV.
7) Ensured the flow and timely issuance and checking of engineering documents for various
disciplines. Maintained and clearing “holds/tracking” issues of all disciplines including
electrical, instrument, civil and mechanical.
8) Ensured the flow and timely issuance and checking of vendor documents for equipment (Ball
valves, Check valves, Closed drain vessel, Gas Analyzer, Instrument air compressor, HV
cables, SCADA PLC, ultrasonic flow meter, UPS), for Strategic Gas Transmission Project of
Qatar Petroleum project.
9) Managed and completed the EPIC (Engineering, Procurement and Installation, Commissioning)
of cross-country, twin, lean gas pipeline from Ras-Laffan to Mesaieed, in Qatar.
10) Prepared the EPIC scope of work covering the detailed engineering, construction activities
including detailed engineering, construction contractor scope of work, pipeline corridor,
trenching, stringing, lowering, welding, hydro-testing as per the field alignment sheets and
pipeline material.
11) Managed and completed the project worth 25,000 man hours/$15 million, to relocate the
„Bornemann‟ Multiphase pumping system from Huwaila oil field to (Remote Degassing
Station) RDS-1 at Bu-Hasa to produce at a rate of 5600 BOPD at a distance 42 km with
production to be transferred to BuHasa Central Degassing Station (CDS) along with other crude
from RDS-1 via existing transfer lines.
12) Developed project objectives, execution strategy, work breakdown structure and contracting
strategy along with the implementation and control of project
13) Monitored and controlled the financial expenditure throughout the project and review proposed
changes in order to optimize cost.
14) Prepared five Project Change/ Variation orders and obtained necessary approvals with closely
supervising and monitoring the work of the contractors in liaison with the Project team to
ensure that the project proceeds according to the contract and deal with any queries, problems
and claims that might arise. Regularly, chaired the periodic progress review meetings with
project team and contractors.

PMC (Tebodin), Company (Takreer) and Nama Mott (Engineering Sub-contractor).
19) Prepared line index, Material summary (BM/BQ), as per the project requirements.

specification and execution procedure for piping material handling.

Senior Mechanical Engineer, JGC DESCON 2002 – 2005

1) Piping 3D modelling finalization by checking/comparing P&IDs and 3D model (Smart Plant


Review) for Dolphin Energy, Qatar project. Also reviewed the P&IDs, traced discrepancies and
located special item requirements.
2) Stress analysis of the existing oil receiving manifold at the de-gassing station (BCDS and RDS-
6), which had to be redesigned/enhanced to connect to more flow lines from oil wells.
3) Facilitated and completed the piping and structural design of sulphur recovery unit of Atyrau
Refinery, Kazakistan.
4) Performed the 3D design of the facility, based on the basic process design.

Project Engineer, DAWOOD HERCULES CHEMICALS 1996-2000

1) Planned and Executed the maintenance projects in Urea/Ammonia plant including design,
Analysis, BOQ, materials procurement, for the plant modifications jobs as and when required in
the ammonia, urea and utility plant, requested by the technical and production departments as
“Engineering Work Requests”.
2) Performed the pipe stress analysis and advising design team on arrangement and support
requirement to work within code stress requirements, for a high pressure and temperature steam
turbine.
3) Prepared Piping design stress deliverables, including studies, detail design deliverables and
final report.
4) Scheduled and Performed the routine and shut down jobs for the Urea / Ammonia fertilizer
facility.

Assistant Engineer, DESCON ENGINEERING 1994-1996.

1) Designed and Developed bulk conveying equipment including belt conveyors, bucket elevators,
overhead crane for the cement engineering department which was handling two mega cement
projects, one of them was Lucky cement (3000 tones per day) and Fauji cement (5500
tones/day). Job was to make the bill of quantities for various project equipment predesigned by
FL Smith.
