Topics for discussion

• General presentation of valve functionality

– This presentation
• Filtration/cleanliness requirements for fluid/Consequence of contaminated
fluid
– SAE AS4059 class 12 B-F rated
– LF: Tested at 2x contamination level. Surface hardened flow trim. Low
fluid velocities. Mechanical scraper and flush position.
– HF: Erosion tested (>600 kg test dust). Ceramic and surface hardened
flow trim. Relatively low fluid velocities. Flush position
– Illustration in next slide

Topics for discussion

• Is the valve qualified for use with wax inhibitor FM-276?

– Compatibility testing and actual chemical testing options on bid.
– Oceaneering use materials commonly used in injection systems.
• How is the valve adapted to the relevant flow/viscosity requirements? (If by
choice of orifice or similar, which ranges are available?)
– High flow has standard flow trim. Fixed restriction in Low Flow is
adjusted.
– For Low Flow:
• Variable restrictor is standard (dynamic length and orifice).
• Fixed restrictor is adjusted to viscosity/density, flow range and
available pressure differential (helical flow path width (1-4.5 mm)
and pitch (2-8 mm)).
• Example: Statoil Fast Track uses 3 part numbers for 16+
applications.

Topics for discussion

• Presentation of calculations supporting the Company requirement: Differential

pressure over CITV shall be less than 30bar with downhole injection rate at
15.4l/h for scale inhibitor fluid with viscosity 90cp and specific gravity
1160kg/m3
– Flow mapping with results stored in a database. Conditions are entered and
the appropriate flow trim is chosen. See slides at end of presentation.
• What would be the consequence of vacuum downstream the valve (e.g. in case
of downhole injection)
– Tested with higher external pressure than internal pressure during FAT
(static and dynamic).
– Symmetric seals, closed o-ring grooves and dual backup-rings
– By design, the CTV has a minimum flow rate. The flow rate will be larger
than 0.
• FAT walktrough
– See FATP-075295
– Factory tour

Benefits

ACCURACY & FLUID CLEANLINESS

Reliable
Repeatable accuracy throughout lifespan
-No moving parts while injecting
-Accurate flow measurement ADAPTIVE

Contaminant tolerant
-Tolerates Class 12B-F supply fluid Flexibility
-No filters required -Best adjustability range
-Self-cleaning (mechanical) -Only 1.5 psi required across measurement restriction
-Interfaces with any SCM (Canbus, Modbus, Profibus)
-Idle power consumption: Less than 2 W
-Power consumption when adjusting: 9 W

SIZE ENVELOPE WEIGHT TESTING

75% vol. smaller 50% lighter Proven

- Smallest on market - Lightest on market - Extensive qualification data
- More valves in less space - No downline required - NACE MR-0175 compliant materials
- No need for “dual core” solutions - No tools required - Broad fluid compatibility
- World’s largest installed base of
subsea chemical injection valves

Applications

Point-to point vs. New technology

Simplifies umbilicals More brownfield life
distributed for existing fields
• Reduce umbilical tubes • Retrofit aged or failed umbilicals
and distribution hardware
• Reduces distribution hardware size
• Repurpose functional architecture
• Reduced installation costs for increased injection capability

Exploit improved Simplify future field Future proof

Improve accuracy
accuracy expansions system design
• Increased flow control and accuracy • Install inexpensive receptacles and
over point-to-point injection systems flushing dummies now – replace
with CTVs during field expansion
• Provides specified injection rates
when one size doesn’t fit all
• CTVs in distribution systems
enables future injection lines from
common umbilical supply

Meeting Company requirements: Flow rate
• Dependent on single component: Fixed restrictor
• Width, depth and pitch of the flow path determines flow rate

• Existing flow test data is kept in a database, and used to construct a
