2019 Year of the Youth Official Logo

Mechanics

1. An artist may submit more than one entry.

2. A submitted design must be the original work of the artist and must not include,
be based on, or derived from any pre-existing logo or design, in part or as a
whole.

3. Likewise, it should have never been produced and used in any event/activity,
whether within or outside youth ministry.

4. An entry must be submitted in both JPEG and PSD formats (file size should be
300 DPI).

5. The artist should provide a detailed description of logo design, its meaning and
relation to the theme as well as the Scripture icon of the 2019 Year of the Youth.

Submission and Selection of Logo Entry

by the Regional Youth Coordinating Council (RYCC)

With the assistance of the Diocesan Youth Council of the diocese where he/she belongs
(or in the case of the FNYO, with the National Council of the FNYO member where
he/she is part of), the logo artist submits his/her entry to the Regional Youth
Coordinating Council for initial screening (for example, an artist from San Jose Parish in
Tacloban City must submit his entry to the RYCC of the Central-Eastern Visayas
Region, assisted by the youth ministry office of the Archdiocese of Palo, where the artist
is a resident).

From the logo entries that an RYCC will receive, the RYCC shall screen and select a
maximum of two (2) logos to be submitted for final selection by the ECY. Criteria for
selection by the RYCC are the mechanics given above, as well as the logo description,
its relevance to the 2019 Year of the Youth theme, and its overall impact.

Each entry submitted to the ECY must be accompanied by an ENTRY FORM

completely and correctly accomplished. This form, prepared by the ECY, is available in
all diocesan youth ministry offices and FNYO member organizations.

Both the logo entry (in both JPEG and PSD formats) and the accomplished entry form
(in PDF format) must be emailed to the ECY Secretariat (secretariat@cbcp-ecy.ph) not
later than 2018 October 25. Any entry beyond this date is disqualified.

Final Selection of the Official Logo

From the logo entries submitted, the CBCP-ECY will choose the official 2019 Year of
the Youth Logo through a team of individuals it will commission for the task.
This call for entries is voluntary; all artists participating are understood as sharing their
talents, as all entries are not subject to any form of remuneration.

Each logo entry will be screened and selected according to the mechanics given, as
well as its description, its relevance to the theme of the 2019 Year of the Youth, and its
overall impact.

Once the official logo is finally chosen, the ECY shall get in touch with the artist, as well
as the concerned RYCC, to inform them about the result.

The decision of the ECY is considered final.

The Logo of the 2019 Year of the Youth will be revealed on 2018 November 15. The
artist will be acknowledged at the Opening of the 2019 Year of the Youth on 2018
December 02.

Intellectual Property Rights

An entry submission constitutes permission to use the artists’s name and information
provided on the Entry Form without necessitating permission or compensation.

All entries will become the property of the Episcopal Commission on Youth of the
Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines. By submitting an entry, the artist
agrees that any and all intellectual property rights are deemed assigned to the
Episcopal Commission on Youth.

The Episcopal Commission on Youth reserves the right to modify the chosen logo to
better fit its requirements as well as those of the event for which the logo is created.
