INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH AGENDA

I. INTRODUCTION

The PCC Institutional Research Agenda is aligned with the National Higher Education
Research Agenda 2 (NHERA-2), 2009-2018, and the National Unified Health
Research Agenda (NUHRA). The NHERA-2 pursues the following objectives:
1. Improve research capability of HEIs
2. Enhance research productivity of HEIs in distinctive areas of competence
3. Generate knowledge/technologies needed for:
a. international, national and regional higher education development
b. policy/plan formulation
c. developing innovative programs
d. advancing the frontiers of knowledge in the disciplines
4. Promote and facilitate dissemination and utilization of research outputs

Since PCC is primarily a health-allied institution, it is the principle of PCC Research

Program to adopt and be guided with the NHERA-2 priority research areas in the
social sciences, natural sciences and the National Unified Health Research Agenda
(NUHRA), taking into consideration the research capabilities of the institution.

II. OBJECTIVES:
1. To provide direction and focus on student and faculty researches.
2. To contribute in carrying out the national higher education research agenda and
the national unified health research agenda.
3. To assist in generating data that can be utilized in decision making or in
policy/plan formulation for community development or problem resolutions.
4. To minimize duplication of research efforts.
