1. Political system in Islam:


5 Islam as a political system:

 Islam is a complete code of life and provides a comprehensive and


equitable political system
 Dintinctive characteristics of Islamic political system distinguish it from other
political systems
 A political system must be based on human welfare
 Islam is neither similar to western liberal democracy nor communism but it is
a better system that inculcates every aspect of life and focuses on human
welfare
 Allah is the sole authority and leaders/khulfa act as his vicegerents. They
strive to implement the will of Allah and are responsible for maintaining law
and order.
6 Characteristics of distinctive political
system of Islam:
 Concept of authhority (Aur kon hai jo Allah se behtar faisla karay) –
(Almaida)
 Man as the vicegerent of Allah (Phir hum ne tum ko zameen mein apna
naib banaya) – (Surah Yunus)
 Equality (Kisi Arabi ko kisi ajami par aur kisi ajami ko kisi arabi par koi foqiyat
haasil nahi siwaye taqwa k) – (Khutba-e-hajja tul widaah)
 Sacrifice (Aur wo apas mein rehm karnay walay thay) – (Surah Fatah)
 Brotherhood (Musalman, musalman ka bhai hai)
 Consensus building (Aur apnay kaamo mein un se mushawrat kia karo) –
(Surah Al-imran)
 No one can be elected as a leader unless he himself abides by the rules
mentioned in the Quran
 A leader must possess all those traits that are necessary for implementing
the authority of Allah (Art 62,63 of the constitution of Pakistan)

 Equity and justice (Beshak Allah Adl aur ehsan ka hukm deta hai – AlQuran)

To preach good and prevent evil (A fundamental principle of Islam)


9 Jihaad:

Jihaad:
Derived from the word “Jahd” which means “To strive for
something.”

In literal sense:
Jihaad means to strive for: Deen, Allah’s will, Defence, and to
protect oneself from worldly desires
10 Prophet Mohammad’s (S.A.W.W)
teachings:
 Islamic state is meaningless without the teachings of Quran and practices /
sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W.W)

 Any individual desirous of attaining power and authority


must not be elected

 Any law repugnant to Quran and sunnah must not


become a part of the constitution of an Islamic state
12 Implementation of Shariah laws:

 Shariah – Dictionary meaning:


Method
 Literal meaning:
To associate oneself with the methods of Prophet (S.A.W.W)
and teachings of Quran

 To implement laws bestowed upon us by the Almighty and Prophet


(S.A.W.W) in their true spirit in every sphere of life whether economic,
poilitical, social, moral, rule of law, administration

“Jo tum ko rasool (S.A.W.W) de wo le lo aur jis se mana karay us se manay


hojao” (Al-Hashr)

 Complete code of life
 Practical implementation of constitution
 Human rights
 Rights of minorities
 Provision of basic amenities
 Economic stability
 Equity and justice
 Amr bil maaroof wan nahi unil munkar
 Peace making
