RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Principal of Academics is a leadership role responsible for orchestrating effective teams for specific
purposes as curriculum, instruction, assessment, resources, professional development, coaching, observation,
evaluation, intervention, and extracurricular programs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred or a proven record of success).
Experience:
Minimum 5 Years of teaching experience
Skills:
Curriculum:
Working understanding of the curriculum provided by central office
Encourage communication with Academic Directors in central office
Communicate with academic directors at central office for clarification and to request services
Develop procedures for teachers to implement curriculum based on the schools’ needs and timetables
Guide teachers on how to create their daily lesson plans by following the protocols set by academic
departments at central office
Assist in planning and assessing the educational programs
Encourage the use of technology in the instructional process
Instruction:
Monitor instructional plans (syllabus, annual plans, weekly plans, lesson plans, etc.)
Recommend teaching strategies and the use of different or new technologies
Research teaching methods and techniques.
Provide assistance to teaching staff in implementing research based instruction and interventions

Collect and analyze the “end-of-year self-evaluation forms”
Collect room inventories and determine the needs for next year
Recommend, order, or authorize purchase of instructional materials, supplies, equipment, and visual
aids designed to meet student educational needs and district standards
Make sure staff has all needed resources for an effective instruction
Evaluation and selection of educational support materials (e.g. textbooks, software, lab supplies,
multimedia, etc)
Monitor use of materials in the classroom.
Inspect instructional equipment to determine if repairs are needed, and authorize necessary repairs
Professional Development:
Conduct or participate in workshops, committees, and conferences designed to promote the
intellectual, social, and physical welfare of students
Plan, organize, and conduct teacher training conferences or workshops
Plan and conduct teacher training programs and conferences dealing with new classroom procedures,
instructional materials and equipment, and teaching aids
Demonstrate or explain assembly or use of equipment
Explain expectations and use of EduNav
Coaching:
Mentor or coach teachers to improve their skills
Build trust and responsibility
Perceive, affirm, and expand teachers' potentials
Help teachers’ set and keep clear focus and goals
Help teachers’ understand and use all supportive systems
Model strategies and show the effective use of programs
Monitor progress towards teachers’ improvement plans
Student support:
Meet with students regarding their academic progress (class reports and presentations after each
practice test)
Conduct one-on-one meetings with students to motivate them towards success when they are in

danger of low performance
Follow up the students grades based on the promotion policy and work with the students and parents
to prevent grade repeating
Contact parents (call/mail/email) of students who are failing at the end of each quarter
Organize Saturday school (student and teacher schedules, curriculum) if needed
Other Responsibilities:
Attend parent teacher conferences
Arranging substitute teachers on a daily basis
Work on Student Database (Entering and updating student and course schedules)
Prepare for Award Assemblies
Review and analyze reports, records, and directives, and confer with teachers to obtain data required
for planning department activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress, and
problems encountered.
Create the school master schedule
Assist scheduling student activities by participating in the development of class schedules, teacher
assignments and extracurricular activity schedules.
Attend Leadership Meetings
Attend grade chair and department meetings
Monitor SPED and ESL programs (schedules and implementation) if there is any
Assist in the preparation of the school improvement plan with staff, parents and community members.
Help School Principal to design, manage and implement information systems manage and track
progress on school goals and academic excellence indicators.
Assist Principal in interviewing, selecting and orienting new employees.
Oversee student attendance records and assist the Administrative Assistant on truancy issues.
Assist creating school specific SMART goals
Convey the school’s mission to the public and encourage support in accomplishing the mission.
All primary roles and major responsibilities are listed. school principal or management advisor may assign some
other duties time to time.
Reports to the school principal and management advisor.
