Director of Recruit:
I would like to apply for the post of instructor in the various disciplines of science and
mathematics. I teach students from 3rd grade through 12th grade. I also tutor undergraduates.
I am an expert tutor of the following exams: SAT, AP, IGCSE, WASSCE, IB, JAMB, etc.,
and many others - you may refer to my resume or CV to glimpse at more details. My teaching
expertise is narrowed towards the modern-inclined approach. I teach using the requisite
materials e.g. marker board, electronic projector, etc. to facilitate learning process for the
students. I employ different teaching techniques I have acquired through experience while
teaching students over the years. I also teach science, mathematics, technology, and
engineering (STEM) subjects. I have acquired a 9-year teaching experience so far in my
teaching career. I have taught students from diverse race and diverse academic and cultural
backgrounds in different parts of West African sub-region e.g. Ivory Coast (Cote d’Ivoire),
Liberia, Nigeria, etc. I am accustomed to various curricula: American curriculum, WASSCE
curriculum (West Africa), British curriculum, and Ivorian-French curriculum. I have taught
science and mathematics to English and French-speaking students. I am a passionate
educator, teacher, writer, IT, technician, and engineer.
Firstly, my teaching style as an instructor towards the students is a very unique and fascinated
approach. First day in class, I suggest to students to acquire three exercise books for which all
the books will be utilized for each subject of science and mathematics. Each exercise book is
used to jot down important points during lecture hours, attempt homework assignments, and
lastly, solve in-class test exercises. After lecture is disseminated to the students, lecture note
and homework assignments are provided to the students. This piece of work is usually given
and it is to be returned to the instructor after two or three days. Homework assignment is
usually given after each meeting. Every week, the students sit for a test to evaluate their
comprehension of the topic taught in that week. The grade is usually recorded after correction
of papers. I also provide research topics to students based on science practical that is
conducted in the laboratory every two weeks. The students conduct research and prepare a
summary of what they had done and present it to the class. The instructor is always there to
supervise. This approach helps the students by being independent, effective, and
hardworking. It is usually graded and it helps boost the students’ grades. Every month, a
science project based on innovation and construction is provided to the students. In constrast
to the research work, it involves a team of five to ten students. They are guided by the
instructor. They develop any workable device that is related to science and present it to the
class. This has enabled my students to be innovative and creative in the past.
Thirdly, for exam-class students, in other words, students preparing for different examination
bodies like SAT general test, SAT subject test in (physics, chemistry, mathematics, French,
biology, English, etc.), Advanced Placement (AP) in (calculus AB, calculus BC, physics B &
C, chemistry B & C, etc.), WASSCE, JAMB, International Baccalaureate (IB), British
IGCSCE, etc. are taught separately in diferent sections. In these sections, tutorial is offered
maximally with respect to problem-solving and derivation techniques suitable for time
management and effective planning. Effective and efficient techniques are demonstrated to
the students in answering tricky and time-consuming questions. The derivation of formulas
also is taught to avoid ambiguious memorization of formulas. The syllabi are strictly and
adequately adopted in preparing students in those various types of examinations. They
usually sit for a mock test to evaluate the understanding of the materials and measure test-
time-management skills. This is done every week. Concise details of the lecture are broken
down to the basic level of understanding. I believe if given the opportunity to showcase my
talent and passion, I would spring forth a delightful positive transformation to the learning
environment. This would enhance a breakthrough to the student populace and the school.
This paragraph pinpoints about self-taught programs I learned through self-practice. With
constant practices, I learned how to design engineering and science projects using some
sophisticated and commercially-available software like AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, ANSY,
ZW3D, BrisCAD, SOLIDWORKS, Pro-ENGINEER, COMSOL Multiphysics, Microsoft
PROJECT, and Microsoft VISIO; be it projects involving house plan (civil engineering),
electrical engineering, or projects involving the designs of mechanical equipment or its parts
using these softwares. I also possess the premium versions of these softwares. Also, I can
work with Microsoft office packages satisfactorily.
I once conducted a workshop presentation on how to design engineering or science projects
using these sophisticated softwares at MVTC (Vocational Institute).
If given the opportunity, I would be the very-best product the institution has been longing to
have with respect to my versatility. These qualities qualify me as a competent STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) instructor.
Thank you so much for your time and patience. I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Signed
