A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
Pinoy Devo formerly Hope in a Letter: Pinoy Devo
started in November 29, 2018 when Morgan
Harper Nichols, Founder of Her Binder Project — a
Los Angeles based online Christian Community
approved my request to start a Filipino based
community of writers and artists to provide free
devotionals for Filipinos. This desire started when I
joined Her Binder Project in May 2015 where I
wrote devotionals for women all over the world.
Now, this desire grows and in February 26, 2019,
twelve (12) Filipino volunteers joined the team
from different parts of the country and the world.
It consists of writers, digital artists and
photographers of different genders and ages. It is
my joy seeing creative people come together to
share Jesus to all Filipinos. Today, I pray that
thousands of Filipinos will join us to study each
month.

Daily Verse: Ephesians 2:19-22
Daily Devo: God has loved you
wholeheartedly. He always engulfed
you with His unconditional love ever
since the beginning even if you can’t
see it properly before. It was Him who
showed you how blessed you are for
having someone you can lean on
without preamble, who will listen to
your cries of plea and will continue to
give hope despite your shortcomings,
who will forgive you many times and
will never leave you comfortless, who
will bless you with so much more, and
who will love you more than you’ll
ever know.
His love has transformed you
tremendously to become the person
He wanted you to be. The journey
wasn’t easy. There were tribulations
or persecutions that slowed your
progress but you didn’t stop. You
continued to take it head on. And as
eras passed, you discovered more
about Him.
You’re not defined by your
insecurities, flaws or mistakes —

Daily Devo: “Who are you?” What if
God asks you that question today?
"Who are you?" How will you describe
yourself as a servant? Would God see
His identity in you?
Every time na tumitingin ka sa
salamin, nakikita mo ba ang reflection
ng Diyos sa buhay mo? Sa bawat
desisyon ba na ginagawa mo, naiisip
mo pa rin ba ang katagang ito:
"Matutuwa kaya ang Diyos kapag
ginawa ko ito?" o isa ka rin ba na
ganito mag isip: "Gagawin ko ito.
Buhay ko naman ito eh. Sarili ko ‘to."
Lagi mong tatandaan na God designed
you based on His identity. God
created you unique. Huwag mong
hanapin yung identity mo sa iba dahil
unique ka, matindi ka, matapang ka!
Because you are like Jesus. Every time
na dadaan ka sa isang tough decision
or situation, always ask yourself,
"What would Jesus do if Siya ang nasa
sitwasyon ko ngayon?"
God knows you so well that He knows
your heart’s desire, your cries, and
what makes you happy. Kung may
isang higit na nakakikilala sa’yo, wala
nang iba kundi ang Diyos. Kilala ka
Niya higit pa sa pagkakakilala mo sa
sarili mo.
Huwag kang mamuhay sa idinidikta ng
mundo, sa sinasabi ng tao, at sa
paraang gusto mo. Mamuhay ka sa
disenyo ng Diyos sa’yo.
And please, beloved. Know your
identity in Jesus.
Always check your heart.
Always check your mind.
Always check your life.

Daily Devo: Why do you keep clicking? You knew there was
nothing but you kept going as if you are glued to it. Why
do you keep scrolling when it didn’t even satisfy? Though
your heart screams “enough” why does your thumb keep
moving?

We are in the “itching era” and the so called “social

media”. Your eyes itch, your ears, and your flesh itch for
new things, for interesting and juicy bits of information.
You are not satisfied and are always looking and itching for
something. This endless journey for trendy news manifests
itself in your life in many subtle ways: the continuous news
feed that keeps you up-to-date on netflix, facebook,
twitter and instagram, more click on those suggestive
website like Lazada, the gossip chatter when you get
together with friends, the appeal to obtain the latest
gadget, the desire not to be left out, the ambition for
promotion while degrading others. All of these don’t bring
satisfaction in your life yet you keep craving for more. Now
who will rescue you from this ceaseless itch? Yourself?
Your friends? We need something from outside this cursed
world to satisfy your flesh’s endless search.

Jesus who directs your path and give you the fullness of
joy.

He promised to one day put an end to your fleshly pull into

the dead ends of life. Until then, He has given you His Spirit
and His word to always remind you of the greatest news
that satisfies every itch. When gossip fire flares up, when
the notifications from your facebook calls you to take your
eyes off your work, when the current event begs you to
join in, let the words of God dwell in you more richly. For
He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills
with good things. (Psalm 107:9)

Daily Verse: Romans 12:2
Daily Devo: You try to do your best to
live up to everybody’s expectations
and wants for you. They expect you to
be this and that as if they know the
right and best things for you. As a
result, you act according to their
words just to let them see that you’re
capable. You do until your last vein
gets stretched and your soul be
consumed by the idea of keeping up.
“If you’re the Messiah, then you
should be able to save yourself.”
Sounds familiar. Jesus had been on
the same boat. Yet He did not
conform to the world’s expectations,
rather continued the mission from
God. For Him, the voice of His Father
matters the most because it is good,
pleasing, and perfect. What He will be
doing that time will serve a greater
purpose than what the people are
telling Him to do.
It might be painful. Obeying to God
resulted to Jesus being crowned with
thorns, rejected and betrayed, and
worst, nailed to death. But because of
Jesus’ obedience, you receive
freedom and salvation from sin,
eternal life, and Jesus.
In your case, conforming to God might
require you to give up some people,
some ideas of your own, and some
worth in the eyes of the world. You
don’t have to keep up to other’s
standards because their wills are not
always good, pleasing, and perfect.
Let Jesus’ obedience on the cross be
your standard of decision making.
Following God may cost you a lot, but
nothing can ever amount to what you
already have—Jesus.
Will you conform to this world? Or
follow Jesus and conform to God?

Daily Verse: 2 Corinthians 10:12-18
Daily Devo: Let’s take a moment for
some self-reflection. Have you ever
tried boasting about your abilities,
your wisdom, your nice home or your
recent promotion?
The desire to boast about your
accomplishments, especially yourself,
is rooted deep within your hearts. Just
like before Saul became Paul, his
self-righteousness and loyalty to his
own rules triggered pride in his heart.
He thought his outward obedience to
the law will make him theologically
superior. But later on, when Paul
encountered the risen Christ, he
embraced true righteousness given to
him by the Lord. He then refused to
prove his worth and challenged his
persecutors to end the “boasting
war.”
You are in the same world where the
tendency of proving one’s worth is so
important. The boasting war
continued up to this day for people
who always seek comparison and
approval. Are you in this danger zone
of life? Are you trying to win your
detractors by firing them your degree,
certificates and trophies you had?
Remember this: don’t live to be liked.
The best way of proving your worth is
pointing towards the work of God on
the cross. Rather than boasting about
your favorable position and
extraordinary accomplishments (even
in your heart), you can follow Paul’s
example and boast about your
weaknesses, so that the power of
Christ may rest upon you.
His words are clear: don’t boast about
anything you do or anything you have.
Boast only in the truth that you are
loved by the Lord and you are clothed
in His righteousness. Remember, the
Lord has already commended you, not
of anything you’ve done, but because
of the Son He loves, that is in you.

Daily Verse: Hebrews 3:1
Daily Devo: So you’re tired. You come
to a point where you overthink every
single thing: Are you doing this right?
Are you saying the right thing? Do you
look okay? Are you really enough?
Oh little fighter, why do you let these
trivial things hold your reins? Why do
you keep on looking at the mirror
every now and then, as if what you
see is all that you are? Can’t you see
why you’re exhausted to the core? It’s
because you want to be everything to
everyone. You want to become the
epitome of a great daughter/son, an
A-1 student, the employee of the
year, a star to everyone who sees you.
Hey, slow down. You don’t have to be
more.
You should know that those eyes
you’re trying to impress are nothing
but spectators. They don’t have to
hold much sway in your life. Their
voices shouldn’t be the one that
defines you. For there is only one
voice that deserves your attention.
Don’t let the noise of this world crowd
out His song that calls you home. And
as long as He calls you, you don’t have
to strive to be everything
anymore—because you are His. And
that identity overpowers all worldly
description.
Now, you can rest. Put down the
mirror and start looking up. Align your
heart with His and set priorities
according to His will. For everything
you see now is like a flower that will
soon wither. And the only thing that
will remain is His love.
So invest in Him, and not on yourself.
Fix your eyes on Jesus and let His
peace and confidence guide you into
doing things with lasting impact.
You are for the eternal.

Daily Verse: Ephesians 6:6
Daily Devo: It isn't new for humans to
always think of what other people
would say. It seems like the validation
of others is so important that it
became their basis for doing things. If
it's okay with many, they'll do it. If
not, they won't. Little did they know
that they let those people control
them by living up to their
expectations — by letting others'
opinions penetrate their lives.
Isn't it tiring?
Love, can't you see it? God has not
designed you to be a slave of others.
Your purpose is not to win the
approval of the persons around you.
Your purpose is to live your life for
God. Your reason to live should be to
fulfill the purpose God has put in your
heart.
What matters most is to do what God
has called you to do — with or
without witness. It is not necessary
for you to let others know about your
good deeds. Remember, what you're
trying to win is not the applause of
men but the favor of God.
So what if your only audience is God?
Isn't it better to please Him alone?
Isn't it better to please the One who
never gets tired of appreciating your
every efforts?
Love, God knows how tired you are in
pleasing every people around you;
which will never happen. People have
always something to say. That's why
God is reminding you this today. You
can start now to live your life for Him.
It doesn't matter if your progress may
be slow at first but at least you tried
to take that one big leap for God. You
don't know how much joy you'll bring
to His heart for trying.
How lovely it is to know that there is
someone like God who'll cherish with
you in every step of faith that you'll
still make.

Daily Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:9-10
Daily Devo: "Maiksi lang talaga ang
buhay dito sa mundo."
Marahil ay narinig mo na ang mga
salitang ito lalo na sa mga malalalim
na usapin tungkol sa buhay. Ito rin ang
dahilan kung bakit maraming tao ang
nabubuhay by the principles of "Living
life to the fullest" at "YOLO: You Only
Live Once". Wala naman sigurong tao
na gustong magkaroon ng regrets in
the end, so they keep experimenting
on how they want to live their lives,
making sure they wouldn't miss
anything. Some live with a strong
desire to have wealth, power and
fame, or to meet or even exceed the
expectations of people around them.
But, is living life to the fullest enough?
May isang bagay na kulang. Purpose.
God is reminding you na ang buhay ay
maiksi, and it has an ultimate
purpose: To live a life pleasing to Him
and to give Him glory sa kung paano
mo ginagamit ang buhay mo. Many
fail to see this important reminder,
since people have free will on how
they want to spend their short stay
here on earth. You need to give the
highest priority on seeking God's
approval over what you or other
people expect you to be. You need to
acknowledge, ask and obey Him kung
saan ka Niya gustong gamitin.
Sa maiksing buhay na pinahiram sa'yo
ng Diyos, sulitin mo ito sa paggawa ng
mabuti, sa pagpapatawad, sa
pag-unawa, sa pagmamahal at higit sa
lahat sa pagsunod sa kalooban Niya.
Keep on learning. Gawin mong
precious ang bawat oras na mayroon
ka at huwag mong sayangin sa mga
bagay na walang bunga at walang
kabuluhan.
Hindi pa sapat ang "living life to the
fullest". Living each day of your life
pleasing God is what a full life is.

Daily Verse: Psalm 139:1-16
Daily Devo: Whenever you go straight
to a mirror. How do you see yourself?
Or how these words affect you?
"You're not enough for me."
So you keep seeking for that enough
to be accepted by people. "You are
not like your sister." So you've grown
a competition in your heart to please
your parents. "Your output seems to
be coming from a highschool
student." So you keep on calling
yourself a dumbass.
You keep on repeating this words like
an old plaque on play. You even want
to stay away and get tired of yourself.
I hate to say this but if you have a
view of yourself defined by the things
you lack or the mistakes you've done
it is also hard for you to believe the
One who says "YOU ARE WORTHY
AND YOU ARE WORTH DYING FOR."
Now He wants you to lay down the
things you keep on picking up when
He already bore those on the cross.
He already overcome the lies that the
enemy is throwing at you, so stop
redefining yourself with those. Stop
soliciting validation for the world sets
a different standard that one can
never be satisfied to settle with.
Before you sneak out of this fallen
world let God hold your hands as you
go outside; because through it all, He
has the final authority to define you.
He has the final details about you. He
already saw those flaws. He already
saw the mistakes you made and will
be committing in the future. But not
you nor the lies this world keeps on
throwing can ever stop Him from
admiring you. Dear, know that you are
His wonderful and treasured
possession. You are His joy. You are
His inspiration. You are His child.
You are breathlessly amazing. Keep
that in mind, wonderful soul.

Daily Devo: Naranasan mo na bang mapuri dahil sa mga
achievements mo sa buhay? Mayroon na bang taong
humanga sa’yo dahil sa galing mong mag-explain at
mag-share ng salita ng Diyos? Have you ever been praised
by someone because you did a great job in playing your
guitar, drums, bass or keyboard? Lahat ng ito ay maaaring
naranasan o nararanasan ng mga taong may taglay na
galing, talento at madami ng achievement sa buhay.
Walang masama kung mayroong mga taong nakaka
appreciate ng mga ginagawa mo, especially ng mga
ginagawa mong paglilingkod para kay Lord. But you have
to keep in mind that you are not a performer, you are a
worshipper of God. Serving God doesn't need an approval
of men. It was all for God and only for God. In 2 Timothy
2:15, the Lord reminds us to win God's approval as a
worker. We are bringing the word of God to people who
doesn't know Christ and this should be our goal. When you
do something for God, you have to think that you are
doing that because you want someone to know Him more.
Kung gusto mong magpasikat bakit hindi ka pumunta sa
mga noontime shows at doon mo ilabas ang pagka-bibo
mo? Tandaan mo na ang entablado ng Diyos ay para sa
mga taong may puso na purihin, sambahin, at pasalamatan
Siya.

Ngayong araw na ito, confess to God and get back to Him

as a true worshipper of your Creator.

Marahil ikaw ay nakangiti at parang

sasabihin ng ibang tao. Ang social
media ay may malaking parte sa kung
anong paniniwala ang mayroon tayo
ngayon. Lagi mong tandaan na ang
salita ng Diyos ay mas mahalaga sa
anumang bagay na nakikita sa social
media at sa mundo. In 2 Corinthians
10:18, ipinapakita na ang bawat salita
na nagmumula sa Diyos ay mas
mahalaga kaysa sa sinasabi ng tao.
Kung feeling mo ngayon ay parang
talunan ka na dahil sa dami ng
negative criticism sa paligid mo, sa
trabaho, sa school, at sa bahay mo,
you have to hold on sa sinabi ni Lord
sa’yo at panghawakan ang mga salita
Niya at hindi sa sinasabi ng ibang tao.
Ang bawat cristicism ay gamitin mo
para maging stepping stone papunta
sa iyong pangarap at huwag maging
stumbling block sa iyong buhay. God
is always looking at you and He never
thought of you as a loser because in
Him and through Him, you are a
victor.

Daily Verse: Exodus 4:13
Daily Devo: When God told Moses
that he would speak to Pharaoh for
the deliverance of His people (see
Exodus 3:9-10), Moses responded that
he is a nobody, no one would believe
him, and he is eloquent which made
Him say, “Oh, my Lord, please send
someone else” (see Exodus 4:13 ESV).
Have you ever experienced this
scenario that God wants to use you
but because of the situation you are
in, your limits, or your dark past, you
are so hesitant and faithless that
nothing will bear fruit?
Then let me remind you.
All of these are not about you. It may
turn out that you won't please others.
Or you would feel bad. Or everything
will not be in your favor.
I repeat, beloved. This is not about
you or other people. This is not for
you. Everything is not from you. All of
them, name it! Calling, skills, abilities,
and other things that you do. They all
came from God. It’s about God's
abundant power and grace. Most of
all, they are to serve and glorify God.
You may be discouraged and lacking
confidence right now, but it’s okay.
Stand in faith over everything. He is
not done with you yet. He has more in
store for you. Never fear. His power is
made perfect in weakness and His
grace is sufficient to sustain you (see 2
Corinthians 12:9) He will keep you
from stumbling.
If God calls you, do not be ashamed.
Don't mind pleasing people. Don't
mind your limits. Remember His love.
Live for Him alone. He is always with
joy to say, "This is my child, and I am
well-pleased."
Do everything for the glory of God
alone, and you shall never worry
about anything anymore.

Daily Devo: You don’t owe the world
explanations of how you handle the
extremities of your life. You might be
feeling that you do but you are just as
much as everyone else. It’s how you
turn into perspective the things that
are happening. You’re entitled to your
own decisions, may it be a yes or no
kind of thing, more so by asking God
to guide you along the way.
Comparing yourself with others will
only make you feel inadequate. But
you don’t lack anything. Nothing’s
wrong with you either. It’s just the
devil’s way of trying to persuade you
that you’re not capable. You are
dearly loved, beautiful one. For even
the stars, He calls them by name, and
so are you.
He even loved you at your darkest
moments. His love is greater than the
waves of the sea. He crafted you just
the way you are, fearfully and
wonderfully.
So let everything you do be done with
love. Show kindness to everyone even
if they won’t show the same courtesy
to you. Pray for peace whenever
someone’s making your emotions go
overboard. For whatever you’re
doing, God sees and honors it.
Have the courage to be your real self
and make them see Him in you.

is the name of the game, are you
willing to switch it from front to the

choose yourself over God?
Mahirap ba? Oo. Hindi naman
ipinangako ni Hesus na magiging

ipinangako Niya ay sasamahan ka Niya
hanggang sa dulo. Kaya kahit gaano
pa kahirap, nariyan Siya upang
tulungan at samahan ka sa
paglalakbay mo.
Madalas nakakaligtaan ng mga tao

pagparito dahil sa dami ng kanilang
gusto. Hindi naman masama ang
mangarap, pero kung ang pangarap
mong iyon ay mas matimbang kaysa
sa Kanya, iyon ang hindi maganda,

malalim pang reason kaya ka nariyan
sa posisyon mo ngayon.
Mahal na mahal ka Niya, higit pa sa
nalalaman at nararamdaman mo.
Hindi naman Siya mahirap mahalin

tayong busy at nakatuon sa sarili.
Hindi namamalayan na may mas
malaki pang litrato at plano sa likod
ng lahat ng ito. Hayaan mo Siyang

Daily Devo: In heredity we have this
so called dominant traits and the
recessive. Dominant is the most
present traits in the individual while
recessive is the rare one to appear.
Let’s say, your being too “attached to
the world” as the dominant and on
the other hand “righteousness” being
the recessive.
In life, admit it or not you’re always in
conflict with yourself as to which
traits to enact. Either to go out
clubbing with friends or help your
mom at home. To drink liquors with
your buddies or to just be contented
with water or smoothies. To engage
yourself into fights or to be the
peacemaker. To cheat on the exams
for good grades or to accept honest
scores. To impress your boss for
promotion or just to work diligently
without expecting anything. To gossip
people’s life or to shape your own life.
To flirt with someone else’s lover or to
stay single without hurting anyone.
Have you ever thought what rules
your life? Is it the world or your
pursuit for righteousness? Most of the
time it’s the world. So to justify
yourself because you don’t want to
accept the fact that the world is
dominant in you, bargaining to God
saying “I did it just today LORD. I
won’t do it ever again” is what you
oath.
The world sure has a lot to offer that
feeds your pride, your ego, and your
flesh’s desire. In verse 12:2 God
reminded you not to get swallowed by
the norms of this world. He told you
not to destroy yourself conforming to
those earthly activities. God told you
to have a mind that is able to discern
what His will is, what is good and
what is wrong, what is acceptable and
what is unacceptable, and what is
worth your transformation.
Enough living a life like a puppet of
this world. Resist the dominant and
start cultivating the recessive. Live for
what is Godly. Live for what’s eternal.

Daily Devo: Have you experienced
doing your best but no one
appreciated your efforts? Maybe
there's some point in your life
wherein you've reached your limit at
napasabi ka na lang ng "Ayoko na!
Nakakapagod ibigay yung best, wala
namang nakaka-appreciate." If you
are in a situation something like this,
alalahanin mo na wala mang
nakakapansin ng mga ginagawa mo,
you have God who appreciates all
your efforts. Some people may not
see how you do your best but God
knows you are doing your best.
Have a self check, whose approval do
you really crave? Seeking approval for
personal satisfaction is not the
solution for your thirst. Jesus is the
living water, it is only through Him
your thirst will end. When you
prioritize and focus impressing others
not God, mapapagod ka talaga. Kasi
when you fail to impress them,
mafufrustrate ka at mada-down ka
lang. Everyone desires to be loved and
noticed and when we seek what
pleases God you will find true
fulfillment. Continue doing your best
in whatever you do for God. Fulfill
what God wants you to do and God
will fulfill yours.
Some may not appreciate you but
there is God who accepts you and that
is all you need. Even if other people
give you reasons to stop yourself from
striving in everything you do, DON'T
YOU EVER STOP. Remember that you
are dedicating everything you do for
God. At the end of the day, it's not
other people's approval or praises ang
makakapagsatisfy sayo. Only God can
satisfy your heart.

Daily Devo: The world will never stop rejecting you.

Don’t be surprised when you experience rejection. Know

that the world you live in is a broken world. And you can't
escape such phenomenon. When people reject you remind
yourself that they rejected themselves first. This happens
when they don't see anything good about themselves.
They throw things at you for what you have because truth
is those are the things they lack. The life that you live is
somehow the life they wanted to live. It will always be
someone's sickness when one cannot understand what it
means to be uniquely created.

Do not be too hard on yourself, instead be that someone

the world needs in the society that one person who cannot
sit still just to understand his worth. Someone who will tell
the world that you all have different stories. God has
appointed you to live with yours. He anointed you to be
someone who can embrace these rejected people who
also come rejecting others. Be the person who can love
the hurting people who also keep on hurting others. They
aren't your enemy but they are a potential recipient of
God's love. So stop thinking of things that might lose your
focus on who you really are in the eyes of God.

You do not have to apologize for who you are just because
the world can't accept you because it is not your job to
please anyway. But be blessed that the way you are makes
the world beautiful. You are destined for greatness. Be the
voice that says, 'Hey you gotta understand this, God never
rejects you because to Him, you are valued more than you
know.'

Daily Verse: Mark 10:13-14
Daily Devo: Imagine a child slowly
coming closer to his parent after
getting scolded for something.
Naglalambing, just innocently and
sincerely expressing his affection like
nothing has happened.
The LORD said that His kingdom
belongs to those who are like the little
children. He is telling us that He is also
looking at our hearts, not at our literal
ages and capabilities.
Yet most tend to lose these child-like
qualities of purity and confidence as
they grow older, and sadly, develop
pride and in need for approval. Oo,
labis na nagkukulang at walang
kakayahan ang mga bata, but their
identity as their parents’ children are
solid strong - unlike the fragility of
turning away from Him after sinning.
Marami ang nahihiya, natatakot, at
nakalilimot sa kanilang
pagkakakilanlan bilang mga anak ng
Diyos.
Pero kapatid, the value He gives you is
not based on your situation. Your
identity as His beloved is not
contingent on your circumstances,
discipline or performance.
Like a little child, you can come to
Him, not shamelessly, but humbly
understanding the uselessness of
figuring things out yourself; not
abusive of His grace but loving and
hoping; committing, enduring and
repenting.
Though clouded by doubts, Jesus can
see clearly the soul He died saving.
And as many are judging you as
undeserving, Jesus is speaking for you,
saying you belong in His presence.
So let Him pick you up each time. Let
Him rebuild that confidence as
someone redeemed by His blood. You
are living this life because of Him, with
Him, and for Him.
Like a child, press on towards the
open arms of JESUS.

Daily Devo: How true are you?
How true are you in helping those in
need? How true are you in asking
“how are you, friend?” How true are
you in forgiving people who hurt you?
How true is it Love?
How true is your heart in praising
Him? How true are you in following
Him? How true are you in sharing the
gospel? How true are you in rebuking
your brother’s and sister’s in Christ?
How true is it? Is your heart pure in
doing those things? Or is it only for a
show?
In Titus 1:16 it says “They claim that
they know God, but their actions deny
it. They are hateful and disobedient,
not fit to do anything well.”
Beloved, kindly check your heart if it’s
true in serving the Lord. Because it’s
not good if you do that just for a
“show”, eventually you will feel
unhappy about it. You will never be
truly happy unless you do something
with Love.
Let go everything that's holding you
back and remove that mask you are
wearing.
Offer him your heart without faking.
Be pure and true, God loves you
always brave heart.

Daily Devo: Maybe you are tired of
seeking approval of this world. You’re
tired to prove yourself to anyone who
doesn’t appreciate you. Thus, you end
up asking yourself, what’s wrong?
What am I missing? Everything is just
so miserable for you right at this
moment. Later on, you will realize
that no matter how much effort you
put into things or no matter how
better you’d become there are still
people who will look down on you.
And even if you get all their praises
and approval it won’t fill the
emptiness you’re feeling, because
nothing in this world can satisfy you,
only God. Beloved, whatever that is in
the world is just temporary.
You can get thousands of likes or
responses on your Facebook post. You
can have many followers on your
social media account. You will be
happy with the praises and
compliments they give you for a
while. But still, you will never be
satisfied. You will long for more and
more.
People can give you praises and still
talk behind your back, that’s the
reality. Why you keep on pleasing
people? What they say or think about
you, is it more important to you? Why
do you always want their approval?
But when it comes to God you keep
on failing. It’s easy for you to hurt God
intentionally every single day. it’s easy
for you to forget him when you got
what you’ve prayed for.
The best praise you could ever hear
will not come from the people. It will
come from God who is proud of you
for overcoming the world. He will one
day praise you saying “WELL DONE,
GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT” –
Matthew 25:23
To God will always be the Glory!

Daily Devo: Selfies aren't fun without
filters, right? This face transforming
tool is often used to hide those
unwanted pimples, eyebags you got
from sleepless nights of scrolling your
newsfeed, puffy eyes you got from
your recent heartbreak and even
feelings. Oh, did I just say feelings? In
a nutshell, you just have to choose the
right filter that will make you look
good and will earn you thousand of
likes across your social media
channels. But is it really worth it?
In reality, you also use the same filter
sometimes. Pinipili mo lang kung ano
yung dapat mong ipakita sa ibang tao
at kung sino yung pakikisamahan mo.
Sa madaling salita, pinipili mo lang
yung mga taong gusto mo at
pinapabayaan na lang yung mga taong
ayaw mo. Kung saan hindi naman
masama, di ba? Because you're just
saving yourself from trouble and
headache. Pero bakit? Maaaring
natatakot ka na hindi ka nila
matanggap, makita nila ang flaws at
weaknesses mo at gamitin nila ito
para i-down ka nila na kung minsan ay
nagre-result para panghinaan ka at
magdoubt sa sarili mo.
Minsan may mga tao na nilalagay si
Lord sa puso mo para lapitan at
i-reach mo nang makita nila yung
kabutihan Niya sa'yo. At madalas, ito
ay sa mga taong ayaw mo at hindi mo
nakakapalagayan ng loob. Hindi mo
naman sila kailangan i-please eh. Ang
kailangan mo lang, sumunod sa
ipinapagawa ni Lord. Yung credits
naman ay hindi sa'yo, kundi sa Kanya.

Daily Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:4
Daily Devo: A lot of times you feel
frustrated just because you do not
have what others have. You feel lack
and inadequate just because you see
what you want from others. Grades,
finances, success, that dream job and
good relationships. Why do they even
have it when I want it better than
anybody else? They are too proud and
self-centered to have it. And now your
hating on people even despising
them.
These are the few signs of envy. You
forget about God’s grace because
you’re too blinded about what you
see from others that you do not
acquire. Envy shifts your focus from
God to yourself. Envy makes you
forget about true love that makes you
whole and complete.
There are two steps to fight envy as
what Ptr. Bo Sanchez discussed in his
book “How To Deal With Difficult
People”.
First is to list down every blessings
you receive and say a prayer of
thanksgiving to God. It helps you
realize that you are beyond blessed
even if you don’t have everything you
wanted. It helps you to be contented
and see that you have everything that
you already need.
Second is to celebrate with other
people’s blessings. Praise God when
your friends are blessed with finances,
a new car or a house, and even with
good relationships they have.
Celebrate with them and be
encouraged that God will also bless
you, maybe not with the same things,
but with things that He wills you to
have.
Remember to remember that God has
already embraced you with love; and
love does not envy.

Daily Devo: Even if you are a teenager, adult, single or
married, in any season of life there's always an endless line
up of standards the world wants you to conform with. The
standards of this world never ends and if you keep chasing
and live for that standards, the more enslaved you
become. Minsan hindi mo kailangang sumunod sa kung
ano ang pamantayan ng kahit na sino kasi mapapagod ka
trying to fulfill it every time. Remember that you live for
God.

God is telling you that there's much better way to live. Ask
God to change the real intentions of your heart. God will
radically change the way you live. You are made to glorify
and please God. You are created to fulfill that purpose.
Once you live pleasing God, you'll start living a peaceful life
at mare-release ka sa maraming mga bagay katulad ng:

1. Fear. Hindi ka na matatakot sa kung anong sasabihin ng

ibang tao. Hindi na magiging big deal sayo ang mga ganung
bagay kasi you live for God not for them.

2. Worry. Hindi ka na mag-aalala how you will fit in. You

will not worry about the things na kailangan para lang
ma-abot ang standards ng mga tao.

3. Discontentment. You will learn how to be thankful and

grateful even for the small things. You will experience joy
because you pleases God.

Can you imagine the things God promised you to have if

you will start living for Him and please Him? Joy,
contentment, peace and many beautiful things coming
your way! Do not let the world's standards drive the way
you live. Examine yourself. Are you living to be liked or
living to please God?

Daily Verse: 1 Peter 4:10
Daily Devo: You might be the type
who is strong and independent, the
Ate or Kuya in the family, or the
Nanay or Tatay to your friends. And
for the most part, the shoulder people
are leaning on.
Some days it gets draining. You feel
like living two separate worlds: the
hero who saves the day and at night, a
damoiselle or damoiseau in distress.
But you find it hard to cry for help at
times that you need saving. You say to
yourself that you must continue the
strong and independent facade
because you don’t want your family or
friends to see that their tower of
strength is also crumbling down.
It is tempting to be selfish, isn’t it?
Focusing on your own happiness can
appear as a cold glass of water on a
hot summer day. You don’t have to
worry about serving people or serving
God. And though it may seem like a
heavy load will be lifted off your
shoulders, it will feel empty. For a
person who lives outside of his calling
will always feel that something is
missing. He will never be fulfilled.
God’s chosen path for you is not a
walk in the park. But beloved, let this
fact serve as a lullaby that will hush
your anxious mind: the Lord is holding
your hand. He knows how exhausting
it is. And He is telling you right now
that He is proud of you for being
selfless and for choosing to die to
yourself.
Someone today lives a better life than
yesterday, believing in the power of
God, in love, in hope—all because of
you.
And when times of service gets hard,
remember that your greatest reward
is already yours—Jesus.

“I need to update a selfie today, which
one do you think my likers will like the
most?”
“Does this outfit look good on me?
How about my makeup?”
How did you feel reading those? Did
they make you realize that somehow
you are also like that? If those phrases
above are like a slap on your face
sorry to say, you’re not from the
heaven’s realm but of this world.
God said that He will not be pleased if
you live for your flesh desires, instead
of pleasing Him. Living a life based on
God’s perspective is sure hard. But
you must always strive to live out of
the norms of this world that always
yearn to please people and ask for
validation. You must live a life not
dependent on others’ feedback about
your job and your skills because you
know yourself better. You must live a
life wherein you don’t get jealous of
others’ achievement but instead you
make them your inspiration to do well
in the field you are good at, knowing
that someday you will also reach your
dreams and endeavors in life.
Remember each of us are good at
something. God created us equal. So
you don’t need to compare yourself
with others because your worth is in
Christ.
If you always live a life comparing and
searching for your worth in the wrong
places, you will always lose yourself.
Thus, you will end up living a
miserable life hating yourself and
others around you. Abandon things,
attitudes and ways that are of this
world. Speak life and speak kindness
to everyone. Before doing something,
ask yourself first “Is this pleasing to
God?”. Remember, God’s will for you
is to live a life pleasing to His sight.

Daily Devo: Malinaw na malinaw na

ngayon na hindi mo pwedeng mahalin
ang mga taong hindi mahal ang Diyos
pero many times you push things and
make your own rules that suits the
current standard. It also happens sa
non-romantic relationship. We rely in
ourselves so much that we forget God
and what He can do. God created love
to be used in His glory.
If you are in a wrong relationship, this
is for you: Baka hindi mo makita ang
reason kung bakit kailangan mong
umalis at mang iwan gayong baka ito
na ang pinakatama mong dedisyon na
gagawin. Huwag mo nang saktan pa
Siya at higit sa lahat huwag mo nang
ipagpilitan pa. Kasi ang tamang
relasyon ay matatagpuan lamang sa
presensya ng Panginoon.
If you want to bless God with your
love life this is for you: Waiting is
tiring. Minsan parang wala ng saysay
kung maghihintay ka pa ba o titigil na.
Maaring nalalabuan ka kasi ano ba
ang point ng lahat ng ito? May resulta
ba talaga? Patuloy kang maniwalang
may patutunguhan ang lahat, may
hinihintay ka at ang nangako sa’yo ay
tapat kailan pa man.
If any of your relationship is hurting
you, this is for you: Huwag kang
mapagod magmahal. Mahalin mo lang
sila ng mahalin hanggang makita nila
na mahal sila ng Diyos. Pero pwede
kang umalis, pwede mo silang iwan.
You can still love them habang
pinoprotektahan mo ang sarili mo.
You are a valuable gift that someone
is praying to have. Don't settle for
temporary things. Endure pain of
waiting, like child birth, it will all be
worth the wait. Tandaan mo hindi na
ito tungkol sa’yo, ito ay tungkol sa
Kanya. Lahat ng ginagawa mong
pagsunod ngayon ay patungo sa

Daily Verse: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13
Daily Devo: You’re a child of God.
You’re the light of this world. You’re
worthy and beautifully made. You
have Christ. You have everything.
We really love reading those blogs
that says something about our worth,
especially when they start with “You
are…” Do you know what that
means? Even if you include God in
those pleasing statements, in the end,
you were really thinking about
yourself. Most of the time you are too
busy thinking about what you will
receive from God and what He can do
in you that you already forget to
honor Him and do what pleases Him.
You barely meditate on how
overwhelming He is without painting
yourself at the center of the canvas.
Truth be told, a lot of times that you
only realize God’s power when you
are so pleased with what He gave you.
Don’t deny it, you’ve been thinking
about yourself more often.
How about God? Surely, He doesn’t
need you, but He is more worthy to
receive honor and praise than you
receiving His blessings.Get yourself
out of the picture. Think about how
God orchestrated the universe. About
how the situations are never a
coincidence because of Him. Meditate
about how He has saved you from sin.
No, it’s not about you receiving His
grace, it’s wabout Him capable of
loving an entitled, self-centered
creature.
How about you? You’re only painted
on the corners of the canvas, giving
way, and pointing every praise to God,
and doing things to glorify Him. Yes,
you will delight with the identity that
He placed in you, yet ultimately, take
it and point it all towards Him,
knowing that it is never about you but
Him.

Daily Verse: 1 Thessalonians 2:4
Daily Devo: In this world full of social
media. Are you too obsessed making
sure people will not say any negative
comments about you as you live your
Christian life? Are you being bashed
because although you obey God, you
still fail to obey what pleases them. I
remember Lecrae statement “If you
live for people's acceptance, you will
die from their rejection.” This is
actually a reminder!
You will not be able to please all
people dahil kahit anong gawin mong
maganda sa ibang tao, meron at
meron parin silang masamang
masasabi against you. Kaya nga
tinuruan tayo ni Apostle Paul to
always aim to please God more in
whatever you do, not the people, not
even yourself, but you should always
please God first.
Christians main goal is not to please
their neighbor but to please the
Creator. Loving God is the greatest
commandment!
Although Some people will not accept
you for doing what is noble. I'm not
saying their opinion is not important.
But it doesn't matter. What matters
most is God's acceptance. Remember
your lord is not the people. Your Lord
is still the Lord Himself. His approval is
your priority. Whether people will
disapproved you or not. Si Lord na
bahala sa kanila, Siya ang gagawa ng
paraan para matanggap nila ito sa
sarili nila someday basta gawin mo
lang ang part mo para kay Lord
everyday. Kahit si Jesus nga hindi Niya
naplease ang lahat ng mga Pariseo.
Hinanapan parin Siya ng butas at
pinapatay. Pero what He did, He
never stopped the works even till
death and resurrection, He continued.
I don't know what specific struggles
you are facing. But this is an
encouragement for you to continue.
Kahit ireject ka pa o pagtawanan ka,
okay lang yan di talaga yan
maiiwasan. Importante nagoglorify at
napapangiti natin si Lord in whatever
we do

 TESTIMONY | ME, MY SELFIE AND I
The one who strived to be noticed all the time has
carried big scars in her heart to see her value and
worth. I'm Roby, 25 years old and here's my story.
I grew up with a mindset of performance motivated.
My family isn't well-off so I was obliged to strive to
become the best in studying. I studied hard so my
parents would become proud of me. I made it to the
point where I graduated with flying colors in each level
from primary school till 3rd year high school. But when
I entered my 4th year, something unexpected
happened. I will never forget that one teacher who
came scolding me for not being good at recitation and
even called me “dumb”. People knew how shy I was
back then. A woman with no confidence in herself. A
woman who always do what others do so she can feel
the belongingness that she longed for. That scenario
made the biggest damage in my heart as I was growing
up. It caused me to engage to different relationships
just to prove the world and the people around me that
I am worthy. Fortunately, someone accepted me for
who I am. When I reached college, I considered
everyone my competitor that even my connections
with my friends was put at stake. I do not want
someone to be seen better than me and grades have
been my lord. Grades, achievements as a dean's lister
was the pride I was holding. As a result, no one ever
called me “dumb” since then.
As miserable as it may seem, I even brought that
attitude when I started my first job. I struggled a lot
proving my superior that I am better than my co
workers. 2014 came and I met one of my schoolmates
who happened to be a Christian and she invited me to
attend their Sunday service. I was aware that I am
going to enter a new chapter in my life.

On May 25, 2014 I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord
and Savior. My few years as a new believer wasn't
easy for the scars of unveiled damage came into view
as I was serving Jesus. One of the things I hardly
surrender is striving to be better than others. I saw
one friend who is good at singing and later on I found
myself doing the same thing. I saw one friend good at
playing instruments and I immediately enrolled myself
in our drumming workshop, thinking that it was where
I’m really called to serve. I even tried doing paintings
and calligraphy because someone is good at it and so I
thought that I can also be that good. My time was
spent in these crumbs of potentials I have other than
seeking the Lord which was really my purpose. I was
so frustrated and disappointed not only of people
whom I tried to compete with but with myself as well.
Not later than 2015, my Pastor challenged me to
speak in front of a crowd but I had second thoughts
that I am not good at speaking. I felt that facing people
is the last thing I would do. Yet, the Lord is just so
good in calling people to serve in His ministry through
the talent He entrusted us. I took the first step and the
99 more was by His grace. God lead me to different
trainings at church which involved public speaking. My
Pastor is a very supportive mentor for pushing me
beyond my limitations. As this potential grows, God
also ignited my passion in writing.
Right now, as I am looking back to years when I was
struggling I can’t help but to be grateful to God that
He has led me to a place where I can show that I am
not someone else's shadow; nor to just prove that 'I
am better' than everyone else. But instead He made
me that someone who is called for His very unique
purpose. I am enjoying my calling as a public speaker
and at the same time being one of the writers of Pinoy
Devo. I have this peace now that these are the two
major gifts He wanted me to pursue, to declare His
goodness in me.
My beloved, we are all worthy and He sees us not as a
dumb person but someone who can bring good impact
to the world through the talents and potentials He
have given us. We have all different calling to discover,
to improve with, and to be at best with for His glory.
Stop living someone else's potential and start allowing
Him to work in you. Your purpose isn't hidden, you
just need to ask for it. For when you discover it, God
will open His doors for opportunities and at the
moment that you're living it out, the blessings will
naturally flow upon you and through you, to people's
lives.
To God be all the glory!
